Binary Star (they hail from Pontiac, MI, though)
Bit strange, no one mentioned, Zion I (Mind Over Matter, True & Livin are dope! The Take Over, is real wack, though)
Murs, not a big fan, but the dude got flow (He really delivers with Felt, 3:16, 9th Edition, dope too.)
Kero One (Windmills Of The Soul)
Surreal (Dude's dope, Pardon My Dust, Future Classic Ft. DJ Balance, True Indeed Ft. Sound Providers)
Blu (Gotta love Below The Heavens)
Mr. J. Medeiros ( Of Gods And Girls)
Choice37 (Diligence, dude's in Seoul now)
Aloe Blacc
Son Of Ran (Incoming Message, Tribute To Sky City) -
Posted 16 years ago #Guy before me hit the nail on the head. I'm a big Planet Asia fan and Rasco is also beyond dope.
Sound Providers got some dope tracks too and of course you can't go wrong with Giant Panda and Crown City.
Check out some old Dilated Peoples, I'm talking tracks off the Platform. I'm really feeling that album alot although I really can't stand their newer stuff.
Some old Defari off that Focused Daily first cd is great, he hasn't come out with a lot lately though.
For pure lyrics you can't ever go wrong with the waterproof MC, Ras Kass. -
Posted 16 years ago #Dope dope suggestions thank you guys. Just to clarify....SP's are from San Diego right? Kk, now what about the left field producers like Nobody, Afta-1 etc.?

Posted 16 years ago #The people on this forum are BEASTLY. Thank you all so much for dropping some new artists for me to check out. You guys are the best.

Posted 16 years ago #Freestyle Fellowship(To Whom it May Concern is their best in my opinion), Lootpack, Solesides, Living Legends, Souls of Mischief(Hieroglyphics), Saafir (Hobo Junction).

- Tha Alkaholiks (21 & Over)
- Compton's Most Wanted (Maybe Gangsta Rap, but some of the albums in the early 90's had amazing production, specially "Music to Driveby")
- Del tha Funkee Homosapien (His early stuff is dope and he recently released an album with Tame One)
- Giant Panda (Fly School Reunion)
- Paris (Dope emcee....on some Public Enemy sh!t)
- Souls of Mischief (93' Til Infinity)

G & E are much better than "alright" dude...if ur only referring to their latest effort ("Say G&E"), i can agree that it's not on that "Legendary" status. But their first 2 albums ("G&E vol. 1&2", and "No More Greener Grasses") are west coast CLASSICS!!! -
Posted 16 years ago #I ain't feelin' Grouch & Eligh new stuff!
Some wack emcee was on the new album Mistah FAB I think.... -
Posted 16 years ago #I think the lead track 'say g & e' is dope though. Maybe cuz I like the flaming lips song they sampled. Really not sure about some of Eligh's production on it though..
However grouch has a new project and sounds pretty dope 'three eyes off the time' listen to all the tracks.... http://www.myspace.com/thegrouch
not that I'm a fan or anything but yo rhythm, what makes mistah fab wack? just curious.
