   Hee Haw Breaks (for all your classic scratch samples/great sentence structure)
   Doubles of every Beats for Jugglers (get your Roc Raida [RIP] on)
   Any of the Mr. Dibbs Unearthed series (you'll recognize lots of early DMC routines)
   Doubles of DJ Babu's Superduck Breaks (simply as close to perfect as original break/battle records were before skipless/all the new tech)
   100mph Backsliding Turkey Cuts (everything you need on one record)
   Boom Bip's Doo Doo Tones (get your Mixmaster Mike face perfected)
   Sqratch Festishes of a Third Kind (great low-fi boomin beats to cut to)
   Butt Ugly Breaks (amazing beats to cut to... and they go on for days)
   Needle Thrashers vol. 1 (you know you want those ATCQ drums from Bonita Applebum)
   Sealed Breaks (so you can learn to drum)
   
   Once you have those, the rest is gravy

   I went diggin at Amoeba in Hollywood today for some of these, I found Superseal II, and Hee Haw Breaks. SO MUCH FREAKIN' FUN.
   
   I feel like my poor needle is gonna catch on fire.
   
   When I get more cash, I'll start buying up those other ones.

   Loudown is giving some primo advice.
   
   I shocked the hell out of my friend last year with a pair of Numark tt200s for his birthday and a Stanton SK-6f mixer. After a month of light, daily use, one of the Numarks would not work anymore. After 3 months, the other deck barely had enough torque to play the record, let alone do any scratching.
   
   Maybe it's me personally, but this is not the first bad experience I've had with Numark products.
   
   When buying a turntable setup, IMO, it's better to buy a solid deck before mixer. If you have to buy one turntable at a time, do that. You can still practice scratching with it and hook a computer/CD player to the other channel for an instrumental.
   
   Don't believe that "Technics is the only way to go". I own Technics, and have owned several in the past. They have definitely earned their "industry standard" reputation. This being said, Stanton and Vestax have decks that are just as good as Technics, if not better.
   
   What makes Techs a more popular choice is their longevity, user serviceability and availability of parts. Second hand 1200s are a good way to go, provided you can check them out before hand or interrogate the seller!

   I always thought the great thing about technics is they take an absolute f*cking beating... Especially important if your going to be hands on battering them every day...

   on the real, f*** numark turntables. A buddy of mine had 2 TTX mk1s... motor crapped out on one after 2 years (wouldn't start unless you jammed the platter down and hit the start button in the right place). Basically, if you get 2 techs and a pre 2008 Vestax mixer, you'll never need any other tables or mixer for life.
