Yo, anyone else listening to this right now? I've had it for ages on vinyl, i picked it up when i was in Amsterdam, stoned out of my box, literally giggling down the street, and what did i come across but a fat-beats. Me and my mate ran in like a couple o kids in a candy store and were racing through the hip hop section to get to the good sh!t first, and i lucked out and got this. Just got it on MP3 too, so now i can appreciate it properly, i.e. listen to it all day.
What a ridiculously good album, i love how you get the sample and then the beat, it gives a bit of insight into how thes makes his loops and the particular artistic style that he has... I just f*ckin can't wait for wonderful radio now. I was hyped about carried away, but the way i feel right now i'm digging instrumental stuff a lot, so wonderful radio is gonna blow me away no doubt.
Believe it or not, this is one of the only P-related items I HAVEN'T peeped yet. I really want to check it out, but I just haven't done it yet. No excuses. I also haven't listened to Olde Soul yet. Need to cop 'em... REALLY need to cop 'em.
Dude, you definitely need to get this. It's pretty easy to find, just order it of amazon, or download the mp3s, but you were one of those crazy cd cats weren't you... ha ha...
What's Olde Soul? Did i miss a trick there?
old soul? do you mean mustache soul? and yes lifestyle marketing changed my life...its a straight up concept album and the concept is herb pilhofer and his jingles. f**king amazing beats, sounds, thes-trademarked filters... indeed you must cop this
I meant the Double K + Olde Soul 7" single for "Taking Me Places" (it's on the putsonline main site). Sorry for the confusion.
Yeah, Lifestyle Marketing sounds dope. I've liked everything that I've heard from Thes, from Noonen to Doin It to "Give It Up" to the Root Down battle, so I'm sure this wouldn't be too different. I mean, "D'Nunzio" is pretty d*mn goofy, but still dope.

Word I confuse the title too, and I also need this one.
And @williamhmacy, I think Pete Rock deserves some props for that filtered sound too.
ooooh sactown, you been slippin... you're not up on lifestyle marketing, and you call yourself a true P fan?
Just kidding , i don't wanna go toe to toe with you about that sh!t, seeing as you seem to be writing the encyclopedia PUTS-tannica...
hows that going by the way?
Well, on the lyrics tip, I still need to get through O.S.T., Or Stay Tuned, a little bit of Stepfather, and Fun DMC, so I'm still a long ways off, BUT I'm done with Next Step, Question, American Men Vol 1, Carried Away, and (as of last night) all the rarities tracks (except for Nothing At All and Beer [Colt45 Mix]).
I have tentative lyrics written by other people for a lot of O.S.T. and Or Stay Tuned, as well as the ones written previously for Stepfather, but they need to be formatted/cleaned-up/fixed. For Fun DMC, I'm working from a completely blank slate, so that'll take longer (got done with Ultimate 144, though).
YoYoPo sent me the old website's HTML pages with all the track listings, album info, etc., so I might end up rebuilding the pages with lyrics, album covers, etc., and giving them back to YoYoPo for his final edits so he can post it all up here. I'm also hoping to make a complete P checklist and a history timeline (like what I did earlier), so people can check off what they have and what they need.
It's been moving slower the past few weeks, though, 'cause X-Mas shopping is crazy for a huge family like mine. Not to mention expensive. Maybe I should just make them mixtapes, heavy on the P, hahaha.
+1 for P mixtapes, cheap and excellent...
+1 for christmas being expensive too! Damn... my girlfriend is askin for all kinds of sh!t... she's gonna get a P-mixtape, no jewelry or clothes or crap like that...
Yeah, my fiancée can talk me into anything. I got her a $70 makeup set, and for her birthday on the 10th this month, I picked up a $480 Yves Saint Laurent wallet for her. I'd swear she uses hypnosis... "Baby, we can't afford that, we gotta watch how much we sp-*BLINK*zzzzzz... ... ... What am I doing outside the store with this receipt in my hand? OH DAMN!"
So thats how they do it?
I remember when I got my hands on Lifestyle marketing....
My head started spinning when the beat on "Northwestern Bell" dropped. Thes One is a master of his craft.
me personally i love beats. so lifestyle was a no brainer. come to think of it, i havent picked up many beat tapes\cd's lately--but i shud start back with that trend. i used to rock the killer instinct sound track back in HS!!! LOL
u really cant rhyme to lifestyle but its a nice play. i like to rock it when workin out or at work. my fave trax r target and the last couple trax--from pan am on to the outro, great sh!t.
but yo, anyone else notice the track listing gets f***ed up when u rip it to itunes?
