Posts: 3,255Posted 16 years ago #Yup, June 11th. Then the honeymoon to Japan for a few weeks. The woman I'm marrying is half-Japanese, half-white, perfectly bilingual (no accent in either language). I'm having a helluva time learning that sh*t... Japanese has three different alphabets, one for domestic things, one for foreign things, and then one that's all different characters like Chinese. Jeez.
She's only about a year and a half younger than me, plays cello, sings contralto/belter range, does musicals (REALLY well), and is into the forensics/science thing like me.
The wedding is going to be pretty intimate; only going to be about 50-75 people at a nice restaurant in Old Sacramento (sucks that we're already broke in our late twenties, hahaha), but we're still doing the huge family bash at my parents' place after the honeymoon. Can't wait. -

Have you persuaded the future wife to let you play some P tunes at the wedding? Walking down the aisle to "What's the time? Time to Rock our Sh1t! What's the time? Time to Rock our Sh1t!" could be good. You could maybe have a call-respond thing going on with the crowd...
I was just at my cousins wedding, she had like 300 people there. F*ck that for a laugh... it was chaos, very very expensive chaos. Low key is definitely the way to go... -

Haha, actually, my soon-to-be-wife made it clear that we're having a string quartet for the actual wedding (her being a cellist and all, she knows which songs to pick that won't put everyone to sleep), and the tracklist for the dinner and dancing will be mostly oldies and those classic dance tracks (you know, "Shout" and all that). If I try to squeeze in Trippin' At The Disco, she might cut my head off. Make no mistake, she wears the pants in the house. I tried, I really tried, but... d*mn, women are too f*ckin' cute to argue with sometimes. It's all good though; she didn't say anything about the music for that huge bash we'll be having after the honeymoon... methinks I'll be bringing a better mix.

Yeah, my cousin had about 550+ people at his wedding, and it was completely apesh*t. Big Italian family and a big Irish family?!? Dudes were getting FUNK AS DRUCK up in that sh*t. I didn't know whether to sling potatoes or meatballs. Good food though, and walking all the out-of-town ladies back to the hotel was an adventure in itself. (Every time I say "back to the hotel", I hear that N2Deep horn sample in my head, d*mn!)
I'm having my wedding in a small courtyard of one of the top fine dining restaurants in Sacramento (their Filet Mignon melts in your mouth, and their wine list is a f*cking novel), so it'll definitely be more intimate. I know the food'll be off the hook. -

yeah for some reason i was the token joker, the court jester, at my cousins wedding. All the australian lads were like "Ho Scotty, you think you can drink? Get this down ya!" so i ended up steamboats (steaming drunk)... I think the most embarrassing thing I did was limbo in a kilt... thank f*ck i was wearing boxer shorts ha ha... My cousin did thank me afterwards for the comedy relief, everyone was being so f*cking serious, that sh!ts supposed to be fun no?
You had a stag do yet? Those are usually more emotional than the weddings... -

D'you mean a bachelor party? I'll probably do one like my brother: no strippers or anything, just guitars/instruments, poker, liquor, etc. My family's all about chilling. -
