Posts: 381Posted 16 years ago #It's Lakai, and the DC Video is probably the most innovative and ground breaking skateboarding videos of this decade. If only for Danny Way's part. Flip's "Really Sorry", Fallen's "Ride the Sky" and "Skate More" from DVS are great videos too. There are a lot actually, I could go on all day about em.
I myself have been skating for 11 years. Just got myself some new gear a short while ago too. -

ill ava BMX anyday. (i can feel the burning from the skateboarders already. lol.)
i do love skate vids tho, ill have to find it again, its on u tube sumwhere. but it was a 3 minute video of steve callebro i think, jus doing sum street in LA and they had DJ Shadow Organ Donar playin, n it jus looked so cool, real smooth. i like surf vids aswell. and snowboarding. cpme to think of it, any extreme sports vids. lol.

WTF sactown! That's some heavy stuff for a public commercial... but seriously, talking while driving is enough of a distraction, but TEXTING!? Who in the freakin' hell does that? I tried to do it once, I just kept hitting the wrong keys, then accidentally hitting send. So my girl sends me "Hey, lets hang out tonight." I send back "j...f" Ruins my evenings!
f*** THAT sh!t. Texting while driving is just plain bad, STOP DOIN IT y'all!

Posts: 3,255Posted 16 years ago #yeah, i tried once too, but all I had to send was "haha, really?" so I did alright, but it was raining hard as f*** and I was actually scared to look away from the road, so that was pretty much my only time.
I've got my ipod/radio set-up in my car working well enough that I never have to look down or fumble with the stereo when I drive. Thank you, Playlist function! -

yeah, i'm the first to admit I was a dum*ss that time I did that... it was before all the studies and laws and sh*t, but I coulda tried some common sense.
sometimes when I'm pumping some loud, hard sh*t, it actually works up my adrenaline, and my senses all get heightened, and I'm actually this primal, über-aware machine... like I'm one with the car or something. I've done my best driving like that. not a speed freak or anything, just very careful. -

So we went to the KFC, more to drive than for the food, listening to music the way over there, cool relaxin'
On the way home he did like 120-125 miles per hour/200 km per hour on the highway, I thought he was going to get us killed. -

Filmed jus up the road from me, roads always having accidents from boy racers anyways so seems like a good place to film.
Pretty grim video, if she had been in a better car than a crappy KA maybe her mates wud be alive, i hate those little tin can cars, theyre dangerous. Shouldnt be allowed on road.
Ive text and driven, ive also phoned and driven, and 2bh, i cant see the problem with using ur phone and to make a call and driving, u talk to passengers. ive seen worse driving from people taking their kids to school and the kids are playing up.

I think that by showing that video ad to young students (even if it is a bit sensationalist) is more effective than here in the states. We have a relatively new law here in California that says you cant text and drive, it is a slap on the wrist. What are the fines in Britain? I dont text and drive, but everyone here does it it seems. It seems like it is always girls too. I was at a stop light sitting next to this 20-something chick, and she was texting. We were going straight, and the light to turn left turns green, but ours stays red. Out of the corner of her eye, or something, she must have seen that green light, because she slammed on the gas, and rear-ended the next two cars ahead of her.
A year so or ago, I spent a few months living in Nicaragua. There were no paved roads, there were no seatbelts in any of the cars, and the locals drove like coked-out maniacs with a death wish. Our nicaraguan homie, Luis drove us all around, and that sh!t was sketch. His beat up Landcruiser had no seatbelts. One time, of many,we were driving, no, barrelling down the pan american highway and our rear tire blew up, sending us careening across the freeway towards on coming traffic, which in our case was a big rig going about 80 mph. Luckily, and obviously, we swerved off of the road just in time to avoid being leveled. Kind of funny, we were listening to PUTS on my ipod.
Wow that was long winded, I guess I am really stoned. Dont text, drink, and/or drive, and go travel to the 3rd world, it is an adventure. -

THAT is some story man! but u lived and your better for it
hell of a story. touch wood, ive never been in anything too bad, closest i got was driving a van, had a front right tyre blowout and it pulled me towards the crash barrier doing 70, luckily i was paying attention, managed to get onto hard shoulder doing no harm.
