   Inspired by the not-so-mind-blowing questions thread, and how bored i am at work, i've decided to find out what the best sandwiches you people have ever had are...
   
   My personal entry is the great prophet of sandwiches known as the
   
   "santa special"
   
   only available for 4 weeks a year from my local sandwich deli. Ciabatta bread, with cocktail sausages, turkey, and bacon, all with a layer of mozarella on top, all grilled, and then with cranberry sauce drenched on top of the grilled mozarella. Semi-orgasmic. I've actually started drooling onto the keyboard just thinking about it.
   
   Uncle Thes, i bet you've distilled sandwich making into a fine art, tell us, what is the holy grail of sandwiches, the faithful want to know...

   i am a big fan of a sandwich here in chicago at a local italian deli:
   on garlic bread....
   -Hot Italian Sausage patty
   -moz cheese
   -giardiniera peppers
   
   ....the hot sausage is so flavorful...that you really could just eat it plain and it would be amazing

   I'm wiping off my keyboard at the moment, damn that sounds nice
   Hot Italian sausage sounds very, very nice too.
   But there are so many good sandwiches, very hard to choose

   I've just eaten a ham / stilton and red onion french stick......to be honest it wasn't great. I did ask for salad as well but they forgot it......its not been a great start to the year!!!!

   dude, you can't judge a day by the sandwich. Good sandwiches come and go, bad sandwiches linger in the memory. It's just the way of the thing... But make sure you get a good sandwich in you soon, otherwise you might start to lose faith in the church of the sandwich... It's a small religion, but the fastest growing on the planet...

   But it cost me a lot of "dough" and i thought i'd used my "loaf" and gone to a good sandwhich shop.....oh well i'll jus try and forget about it and move on....i just don't know these people earn there crust.........

    I was in downtown Davis the other night, and I got this sirloin french dip from this one place with some really sharp swiss or provolone or some sh*t that was the f*cking bomb... probably because the au jus they gave me was RICH as a m'f*cka. They've got these fries that just round out the deal too.

    The fries make any good sandwich spectacular. Is this just me, or does the fact that the meal comes with fries sometimes make it glorious?
