Still 'Outrun' for me.
Classic...
Difficult one.
Can i choose more than one?
Step bacc, f***ing rocks it for me. Straight up hip hop.
But i also love Earth Travellers and Joyride
Mine will always be Youth Explosion. I still remember hearing it the first time in my dorm room and having to repeat it a couple times. "So, who can make it tight (we) / First initial (the P) / UTS, Thes one and Double K (just be) / Rippin' on a track..."
Tough one... probably The Outrage or LA Song (Sensitive Mix).
Montego Slay probably. Or maybe Roadbeaters. And I can never get enough of Cookie's Theme.
My favorite beat, though, is definitely Sunroof. Love that sh!t. But because it's an instrumental I don't think I can say it's my favorite song.
I'd have to go with The Breakdown
Interesting that everyone has a different choice.
I've given this a lot of thought and... sorry, I can't pick a favorite.
According to my iTunes play count, it's the first few songs of Carried Away and "Jappy Jap", but that can't be right. I could PROBABLY tell you my least favorite songs of the P, but favorites?
That's like lining up the hottest 10 women in California and telling me I had to pick one... The Sactown lover would just invite them all in for a drink. (Don't tell my wife that tho.) No need for "favorites" when I got time for 'em all.
I love the diplomacy, Sactown. I'm much the same, I have about 15 I could make a serious case for but there's no way I could narrow it to 1 that I like more than the rest.
Havent been around on the forum for a while, so its a coincidence that this topic was made recently, I was out with some homies lastnight who are fans of the p, and we were debating the same thing over a few beers. My homey chose 'blowin wax', his girl chose 'hang loose'. Im a sucker for the serious, poignant tracks, I gotta go with 'carried away'. That beat and those rhymes! sh!t son!
Good topic! Its funny because I have really been trying to spread the word about The P. I started a new job recently and they are really big into building personal relationships with our corporate accounts. So my love of music and PUTS comes up quite a bit.
I have a difficult time recommending songs to turn people onto PUTS because to me most of their songs are tight and my favorites are the ones that relate to the L.A. lifestyle.
I am chatting up a client from back east who is I want to make recommendations to but Im not sure where to start.
I say since Summer is coming up, my recommendations would.be:
Montego Slay
Umbrellas
Flex off
Jamboree
I dont know...any suggestions on where to start when suggesting songs?
I can actually give you a top 5, but wow, everything is good.
1. Same Beat (Fun D.M.C)
2. E Business (Q.I.T.F.A)
3. Uprock Boogie (Highlighter)
4. All Good Things (Carried Away, vinyl only)
5. Keeping It Live (O.S.T.)
Tough as the new album has so many dope tunes that keep becoming my favourit.
But until 12Sp settles for me I have to say 'We'll be there'. Remember getting goose bumps first time I heard that and still sometimes do. Not just a favourite PUTS tune but up there as a favourite tune full stop.
Suite for Beaver pt 1 & 2
The Dig off OST......sums up why I think PUTS are the best out there...
