Y'all know him. You're all embarrassed to dance to "Jump Around" and sh!t. His work is ill.
5. Ant Banks
Fat chunks of funk. I couldn't exclude him from this list. Too $hort, Spice 1, Rappin' 4-Tay. Who doesn't like "Player's Club" or "I'm a Player"???

Posts: 1,659Posted 16 years ago #Waaaaaaay outta my depth here, no v. little knowledge with regards to producers, but i have to say DJ Shadow and Thes One produce more music i prefer and consistently better music (IMO) than Dre. But i guess it would depend on what sorta beat u like. i class boards of canada and above and beyond as some of the best producers.
on a side note, when is detox meant to be coming out? thes makes a refrence (i think) on DQMOT when he says "...your like detox, u dont exist. and the fans will be p!ssed..." he know summat we dont? lol. coz its been too long since 2001.

Posts: 40Posted 16 years ago #PBW hasn't produced something that I've really loved in a while. When considering him, I had to stack up his catalog against the other dudes I was thinking of including. He didn't cut it for me.
Madlib was closer 'cause of his work with Lootpack and Lootpack's work with the Liks. His Beat Konducta albums are kinda spotty in their quality, but he's definitely a contender. Shades of Blue was pretty cool, too.
DJ Shadow has been on this hyphy tip and I'm not really feeling it. Endtroducing was dope though.
Cut Chemist, PBW, Madlib, DJ Shadow, Einstein, and Thes are dope. Probably better than T.C. but I love T.C. and J-Swift too much to put a lot of people above them.
T.C.'s work with Dre Dog is still dope to me. Khayree's work with Mac Dre, Mac Mall, and Ray Luv is unfadeable. -

goop! i know he's from Japan, but all the GP and solo beats i've heard from him are from when he was centered in LA, goop!
yo dodo, i don't know anywhere else that sample's been used, id love to hear it if it has though... also you probably know just as much as i do when it comes to samples -

yo SAC first let me give u props for havin Dj PoOh and Quick in your top 5 in your favorites those are 2 of my favs as well but i gotta say Thes is up there in the top 5 cali producers especilly on the cli boom bp tip
