   Now, yall probably know this already, but i jus watched it and i certainly got schooled:

   Anyways, the point is this, we got a varied board, everything from politics to sandwiches which is gud, so figured why not talk about something like hip-hop? lol. Anyone out there practice any of the pillars? i know we got some DJ's and MC's, any Breakers or Graff Artists? im familiar with Banksy and thats as far as my graff knowledge goes.

   so lets share sum stuff, post links to you tube, pictures online etc, il learn something and maybe some of yall will to wiv any luck.

   I dj, scratching and juggling and all that.
   
   Done a couple of pieces but I'm no graf artist.
   Artists I like and recommend are...
   
   Frame, Erase, Rough, Crack 15 etc from 3rd Decade
   
   Eyes all I know is Eyes does a lot of work around Sunderland and has some very tight pieces. Not your typical stuff.
   
   Eelus has done some nice prints such as the little girl walking the AT-AT.

   Tasso. Now that is some art.
   
   Nosm, US dude, got a tight tag and some nice characters.
   
   Space Invader, a different sort of graf.

   I can't... but I might give it a try if I'm real drunk had a few drunken dance offs. I look like a grizzly bear being attacked by bees... but that hasnt stopped people asking if I'm pro.

   Obviously a lot of people dont see much breakdancing.
   In fact when someone asked me that my mate had just left the dancefloor bleeding with a head injury lol...

   I love all the "elements" of this culture - there are more than anyone can count: the streets, slang, graffiti, pop locking, beatboxing, making beats, djing, rapping, freestyling, uprocking etc.

   so basically i'm saying f*** the phrase "4 elements"
   
   that's reducing hip hop to a t-shirt slogan to me and in doing so excludes PUTS from this sh!t.

   nah, im jus learning, thats y this threads cool, share sum stuff and EDUCATE!!!! if hip-hop means painting rocks then so be it, i jus wanna LEARN sum sh!t. Checking out the graff artists as we speak, gnma av to cop a few books i think (i love learning wiv a book, really get into it yaknow.) lol.

I look @ the subject like it's religion: some people need it to define their lives & keep on the straight, some can go through life without thinking twice... Whatever you do just stay true to YOU! Everthing else will fall into place. We all bring something different to the Table, Hip Hop IS diversity...

   On this one i disagree with thes, i think there is a place for the 4 elements chat. It's part of hip hop's history, it's like a style-ised type thing. I mean, it doesn't matter a god damn if you can't dj, mc, break, or wield a spray can, you've got as much right to be hip hop as anyone else, and if that's what Thes is saying then, yeah, I agree. But if he's saying there's no place for the 4 elements idea, i think he's wrong, because it's part of the culture for sure, it's been part of the culture for a long time too, it's just a historical fact. I mean it's not the 4 elements fault it's been appropriated by disney and macdonalds and all that sh!t. And i don't really get that he feels that PUTS is excluded by the idea of four elements...
   
   Hmmm maybe it's time for a new four elements,
   
   Knowledge, Unity, Peace, Progression...
   
   And Mambo, don't let anyone dictate to you what hip hop means, hip hop is an internal identity, you decide what it means and you decide how to use it.

    Only thing I'll say: I think all the stuff that's come up in hip hop has SOME place there (4 elements, keeing it computer-free, being on the "positive tip", bringing cats knowledge, making it "scientifical" or "mathematical", street knowledge, etc.), but I would never want to define any of that as even being a major part of hip hop.
    
    It's just... what it is...

    i try n put that into everything i do (even if the A**hole infront did cut you up with no indicators or regard for your saftey ) but i guess hip-hops like that, a feeling more than a pasttime? its a way of acting and sh!t. If theres one thing ive learnt tho, is that the hip-hop charts in the UK are whack, apart from jay-z (IMO) there aint much real hip-hop out there. maybe i should complain next time i see sum sh!t being called hip-hop being flaunted on t.v.

    i like this thread anyways, good to hear all peoples opinions on this, prehaps 4 pillars was the wrong title 4 this so heres some vids of a beatboxer from round my way, Fozzy, hes pretty good. does more drum n bass tho, check out his version of dead prez- bigger than hip-hop at the end.
