I have a strong feeling that Thes and KK may continue to lean more towards creating live beats, possibly allowing for their peeps to contribute; continuing to expand their repertoire.

All I remember is Thes and them saying is that they they feel each album they produce is one big story. They're definitely kickin' it up a notch with this 3 part-series right here, and I know it's gonna blend so uniquely, yet still paying dues and in ways like none before - a collabo with Greg Nice? That's definitely gonna hit us with some nostalgia right there.

Idk, but all I know is that Thes and KK better not repeat what they did with the Ste' For Reefer" track on 12SP where the intro was so f**king' good that it should have been a full blown track by itself. Forgot to ask KK last time in person where is the extended track for that?

Then again, you are right. They have such a madd collection with them coming up on rare and unique records to date. So it's possible they want to hit us with that. Open sesame!!!

Decided to take up your challenge and glad I did. Went in reverse order starting with 12SP. Currently in the middle of Stepfather. Damn these guys are good!

the drool hasn't stopped since the pre-order, and if this idea in fact becomes a reality, i'll be swimming in pools of funk drool! gonna be such a funky album!

Funny - my order for the EP was #9...and there had been 9 views of the You Tube clip when I watched it.

Sounds like TGOS is gonna be Jazzy, which would actually be somewhat different for them. Minus a few scattered tracks they haven't done a lot of full-on jazz sampling, but when they do it's great. Sunroof is one of my all-time favorite beats. And of course Yehaw Partystyles and Plunken Em.

Finished listening to all The P albums in reverse order. f***ing Wicked!

The only surprise is that I didn't dig on Stepfather as much as I have in the past. That album still has some of my favorite PUTS songs (Pass The 40, Tuxedo Rap, Crown Ones) but overall I wasn't quite as into it as I used to be. I also appreciated Highlighter a lot more. And if it weren't for the end of 12SP kinda plateauing I'd say that's their best album.

Can't wait for TGOS! Not only to see how it's different from their other albums, but how each EP will be put together differently and still flow together.

Awesome!! Might have to have a full chronological listen myself! Think i'll start at Next Step and go the whole way through.

That's interesting you say that about 12SP. I reckon the last 3 tracks are the most solid 3 tracks of the whole album, along with the first 3. That combo of Yes I Can, Umbrellas and Dr Feelgood is just sick. I've also been cranking Stepfather a lot the last few days and yes, it for sure has some of my fav P tracks. Crown Ones being my favourite of that album. Highlighter is dope of course, especially the second half.

Man its still another 3 weeks until the first EP... I want it now!!

I'm hoping that jazzy backing on the promo video is an indicator of what's on the album. It'd be nice to see them throw a little jazz in the funky mix. I'm really excited to see what they came up with.

One of the coolest things about the P (besides their longevity) is the fact that they reinvent themselves a bit on each release. Some people can't really hang with the some of the changes, but I've never really had a huge issue with it. In fact, all the variety actually invokes what De La Tribe was talking about a sec ago: I find that I appreciate things differently on each listen.

Lemme put it this way: I listened to every single P song in their entire catalog when I was making the lyrics site (often repeating 5-10 seconds of a song 20x or more in a row to try to decipher a difficult-to-hear lyric), and I'm STILL finding things now that I didn't hear before. Probably couldn't say that about a lot of the other artists I listen to.

By the way, looks like Villain Park (KK's bro's group), Revolutionary Rhythm, DJ Day and a few others will be opening for PUTS at the album release shows. So amped for next month.

That's what's great about The P - they have something for everybody, so even if you don't like one thing they got tons more for you.

For me, I'm not big on the sentimental, "inspiration for the homies" tracks. I'm more of the "f*** the homies I'm trying to get blazed" type when it comes to music. That's why I think 12SP starts to plateau at Yes I Can. And Umbrellas doesn't quite do it for me and I don't know why, not that I hate it or anything and maybe I'll come around to it. Dr. Feelgood is great though.

And I think it was those sentimental tracks on Stepfather that I wasn't digging this time, whereas earlier I may not have paid as much attention to those songs because of all the standouts from that album. And I actually liked Fun DMC more this time but for the opposite reason, maybe I was too focused on the sentimental tracks and wasn't paying enough attention to the standouts.

Again, though, that's what's great about PUTS. And like Sac said, there's always new sh!t to hear in all their songs.

Bring on TGOS! Bring on the Jazz!

Real excited to hear that Revolutionary Rhythm will be playing with them again. They were great when I saw them last year at The Independent. Hopefully they have some vinyl available. And Villain Park would be cool to see too. Hopefully they're all coming to SF.

according to instagram Villain Park's new album is out tomorrow featuring Double K. Album release shows should be HYPE!!
