love that sh!t! "The life of a Player" followed up by "Ain't nothin' wrong" is a bomb summer combo. "Let the rhythm take you" is so smooth too... I just I love the whole damn album.
Back in the day we used to bump "If you want it" like a million times a day, trippin' on who flipped "Hung up on my baby" better; Geto Boys or 2nd II None...

bonobo always goes down well for me during the summer months. Fourtet too... A bit of DJ Kentaro... some Kid Koala... s'all good.

Anything Roy Ayers recorded in the '70s.
Tower of Power - especially the three Lenny White albums
Isley Brothers' '70s stuff (especially Live It Up through to Go For Your Guns)
Sergio Mendes' Equinox LP
Jobim's The Composer Plays....
In terms of hip hop, gotta say Pete Rock's The Main Ingredient, Labcabincalifornia, Del's Brother Geroge LP, OST baby.... probably loads more I should mention...

Yeah, Do You Want More is a good one... so are Jamiroquai and Antonio Carlos Jobim... the track 'Blue Oceanwave' on the new Panacea album isn't bad either...
A lot of Tribe Called Quest songs are good for summer... phony rappers, check the rhyme, etc.
