Back From The Dead obviously has the most poignant snippet samples. "Death is the final stage of your body, the absolute moment, there is no turning back"

That speaker being translated at the end is most weird tho. That is our man Dr Myles Munroe, apparently in the last interview before he died!

Maybe they just playing, maybe they want time out to readjust their work/life balance. As sac says, they've both had sh!t to deal with in the last 12 months
If it IS the end (musically) we've not done bad from them and can't begrudge them time to spend with their loved ones.
I did think that After These Messages points towards Thes relocating to somewhere in central America to just chill on the beach and surf.Regarding the cryptic stuff, I'm rubbish at stuff like that..

Posts: 232Posted 10 years ago #This is some crazy sh!t. Reading the above is kind of amazing. Not in any super detective way, just from the vibe, I felt this. At the weekend me and the missis had a drinking session listening to it on rotation. And I said to her, "this is it, this is the final album"
If it is I will obviously be gutted. but talk about going out on a high!!!!!! I just hope they do at least one more tour hitting the UK before they do call it a day. (hope we are all wrong though and they keep going, the music just keeps getting better).

Posts: 300Posted 10 years ago #If anything, I think this just points to them taking a break. "We'll be back, but for now just settle." Maybe Thes is going to make a concentrated effort to bring piecelock70 back from the dead.
Also, Thes is definitely the type of person who puts absolutely everything into his creations, and therefore always feels physically and emotionally drained at the end of a big project. So he may very well feel like this is the end right now, but later he'll get his strength back and will need to create something new.
And this isn't the first time Thes has mentioned Sisyphus. There's another reference in We'll Be There. So...The record ain't over/all you gotta do is flip...

It seems like Thes is saying maybe they've reached their peak creatively and can't take the art any higher. They're departing to new aspirations; I respect it. That window never closes though.

What's would be your ideal track order for a unified "The Gettin' Off Stage" album?

12) Back From The DeadI just feel like "The Love" and "Graffiti" are kind of soulmates, and the same goes for "Alleys" and "Nightrunners"... but that's just me. It's crazy hard to find a good fit for "Back from the Dead" if you stick to "100 Miles" as the opener, though... Maybe use "After These Messages" to close out a Side A, and "Back from the Dead" to open Side B??

12. Feels GoodTried to have the end of one song sync up with the start of another without using two songs that were already put together consecutively on the EP's. Worked better for some than others: Nightrunners and #ASAPfree... syncs up really well for instance, so does Back From The Dead and Saturday Again I think. And it's a rule of mine never to start a mix with a track 1 song, or end a mix with a closing song. (It's weird, I know. Just a thing of mine. It's also a pet peeve when a band opens a show with a track 1 song. Not that it'll ruin a concert for me or anything, I just think it's lazy in a way.)
And maybe this is just me, but it seems that each EP loops back into itself (sisyphus) so I thought putting The Love next to 100 Miles worked well. Same with starting Side A with After These Messages and Side B with Back From The Dead. Also, starting with After These Messages seemed more optimistic given the circumstances, while Feels Good still leaves you with something to think about and (literally) ends with a bang.
