Spelling error - I obviously meant Redefinition!
If you check the end of this podcast, you'll hear what they have in store - around the 1hr 29 min stage.

20 Years of Thes One
20 Years of the P
The Michael Turner Story
^^ TBH I was mostly kidding around in my earlier post.
It'd be great obviously, but we'll have to wait and see what exactly Redef and PL70 have planned for us and whether it means any and all future P/Thes releases will be released through this collaborative effort.
I have high hopes for this either way, as Redef have a very strong back catalogue at this point and both JNOTA and Damu are fellow P fans... This should be a perfect combination like ice cream & sprinkles or beer & bratwurst...
Lots of new stuff coming on Redef:
New Damu album (3LP), DJ Spinna Beats V1+, K-Def LP (MPC prod), Klaus Layer x KAAN EP, Insight LP prod by Damu, PVD V2, Thes One ...

Not forgetting the HISS slip mats...

Sounds like at least half a year's worth of releases right there.
I have a feeling in my gut that at least 1 or 2 of these won't be out for a good while (similar to what happened with HISS3&4 and the 2 K-Def LPs, which were announced years ahead of their release).
The Insight LP appears to include at least some of the tracks that were recorded for Y Society's sophomore album, so that's what has me most excited by far. Been waiting for these to drop for a looong time now and was beginning to lose hope they'd ever see the light of day. (Strange that they seem to be downplaying that angle btw.)
I wonder whether the DJ Spinna Beats might be the 96 beat tape he recently uploaded to bandcamp..? No mention of Double K's SP1200 project though...?

Yawn.
Sorry, but this is just Stones Throw tactics #101: constantly reissuing/re-releasing your best selling product in a variety of different ways, teasing that there *might* be more to come (i.e. Quas 3, Madvillain 2) and/or doling out 1-2 left over tracks. ST have been doing that for years, and I think anyone but their most hardcore stans isn't exactly impressed with the constant donut milking...

I respect what you're saying...but how many decent slip mats are out there?
Man, I was struggling to find anything until I lucked on my P Legacy mats on eBay for £20 (the bidding started at £10 but I offered £20 straight up and (thankfully) they accepted. I've been happy ever since.
Happy Christmas to all...

I can only assume you're talking about designs/aesthetics that appeal to you?
There's literally thousands upon thousands of different slipmat variations out there: anything ranging from extremely simplistic designs with smileys, marijuana leaves and vortex swirls on them, to label/band logos (= merch) and hi fi brands (Technics!), as well as stuff ranging from simply felts and plastics to glow in the dark prints and various tech-y ones designed and/or endorsed by famous DJs (butter rugs, flying carpets, table cloths, etc. etc.)
In a way it was almost inevitable that a record label such as Redef would eventually make their own slipmats available, but as I've stated before I think it's high time they moved on from the HISS series. Volumes 1 & 2 came out in 2010, I absolutely rinsed them for the longest time, but between the numerous reissues, last year's Vol.3-5 and multiple leftover/bonus/demo releases since then, I really don't think it necessary or wise to keep putting out "new"/slightly altered HISS products every few months. (To circle back to my Stones Throw analogy: such a heavy emphasis on previous best sellers always strikes me as not having much else/new to offer and/or desperately trying to keep something relevant/in the public eye; which it really already is if the product keeps selling and you've successfully moved > 10.000 copies?)
