I'm SO happy that I picked up this album (Mr. Hands, 1980) on wax when I was a teenager.When Double and I were raving about Songs in the Key of Life backstage in S.F., we got to talking about Herbie (who played the keys on "As"... which is even doper when you realize that now Herbie's on a PUTS album!!). We talked about Man-Child, from 1975, which has the Stevie Wonder appearance which prompted Herbie to do "As" for Stevie, and then I mentioned Mr. Hands to Double, and he told me that he thinks it's a great album too.
Always nice when your stance on a particular piece of music is validated by someone who you respect from the music community.

1. Highlighter- tha P
2. Undun- The Roots (wish they would release this on vinyl)
3. Oneirology- CunninLynguists
4. Section.80- Kendrick LamarHip Hop ain't dead yet!
And as far as non-Hip Hop goes.. well, I'm a waxhead sooo.... listen to pretty much anything and everything
show me something dope! (love that Herbie track Sactown)

Posts: 1,659Posted 14 years ago #Pretty much anything on the Med School Label right now, that downtempo stuff sounds so good. This unquote track is off the reverberation box album which is close to being my favourite album of the year. (Highlighter holds the #1 spot for me)
And this track from a local producer who im always keen to support in the form of my man Lung! Seriously dope stuff and hes really nailed it here. I hasten to call this music dubstep but in Lungs case, its pure dubstep, not this silly flo-rida nonsense!
