I'm very excited for this album yet more or less pretty new to buying records in general. Is the vinyl likely to be available in music stores or online only? (I'm in Australia btw, seems like a long shot) because if theyre limited they'll probably sell out real fast like puts stuff usually seems to

Like past PL70 releases it will almost certainly be done primarily online. idk if he does distros to local (California) shops as well, but I haven't seen PUTS stuff in a brick and mortar store since they were with Om.

There will, of course, need to be a separate thread to discuss the music away from Mr Tibbs......who will of course be waiting for the physical media.
Appreciated mate, thanks for thinking of me.
Yes, it's going to be incredibly difficult to hold off on this one...but hold off I will until that sweet, sweet (candy!) vinyl arrives.
I'll have a lot to read come April time... -

For me it's just because I'm a collector and some music I like to have in mint condition.Perhaps I should explain a little better where I was coming from with my question. (And I stress that this isn't directed at anyone in particular although I'm responding to as well as adressing Instrumentalist's post.)
It's not so much that I'm opposed to anyone buying doubles on principle. (In fact I own multiple copies of certain records as well, which can be because they're some of my all time favorites, different pressing variants with alternate tracklistings/artwork/etc. [nerd reasons basically
] or to mess around/DJ with.) It's more that these type of comments often rub me the wrong way:Firstly, I find it rather weird to be buying records if you can't even/don't intend to play them. Sure, they make for neat display items, but perhaps it'd make more sense to buy posters or other memorabilia instead if that's the intent. (Again, I'd understand if doing so were specifically about the artwork or some other unique personal choice, but let's face it: there's a whole crowd of folks/hipsters out there who've jumped on the bandwagon and started buying "vinyls" from Urban Outfitters, overpriced RSD nonsense, etc. for all the wrong reasons in recent years, which has intensified my reservations about this kind of behavior.
)It's not as though records are subject to such an amount of wear and tear that there's any real necessity of buying spares for the express purpose of keeping them untouched/mint/on ice either - prodided they're treated carefully of course. Unless you're a working DJ or a wannabe Q-bert who's apt to wear the tools of their trade down to the bone through heavy, repeated use, this is the equivalent of purchasing meteor insurance IMO. I have records that I've owned for 20 years at this point and played often, which are still in lovely condition.
The chances anyone will actually be opening their spare copy of some record 30 years down the line because they wore out their first (play) copy are roughly slim and none IMO...And of course there's the obvious, unnecessary braggadocio/one-upmanship/greed of these comments:
Look, everyone! I'm the biggest fan, I'm buying x copies (, I have the most money)!!Between folks buying multiple copies, the resellers/vultures/record sharks who buy copies with the intent of (immediately) flipping them for more money (no one admits to it but people obviously still do it) and the economic necessity of pressing limited numbers it's no surprise everything sells out almost instantaneously, leaving a lot of people empty-handed and whishing they, too, could have bought/owned a copy.
C'mon, don't be a loudmouth or selfish @ss (or if you can't help yourself at least try and keep it on the DL).
Thes and Double have been busting their hump for 2 decades, going the extra mile and beyond to try and make sure ALL of us fans get to enjoy the fruits of their labor (up to and including giving up some of their personal copies of recent releases if I recall correctly).Anyway, sorry about the rant, but I felt some of this needed to be said. Perhaps I'm taking things a bit too literally/seriously and stating you're going to buy x copies is simply how some of y'all chose to express your excitement at that particular moment.
TLDR: I don't think comments that can be easily (mis)interpreted as bragging/selfishness/greed are particularly cool.

Bruh you just wrote a dissertation on spending $20 for another vinyl record. I'm going to give a +1 on taking things a bit too seriously.

Good spot on the track list! I notice no Drinking & Jivin’ - only calling that out because I wonder if it was originally intended but then they changed direction?
From a podcast in the summer it sounded like TGOS3 (again, maybe this is now entirely different) was more of a party record but these tracks sound serious?

Damn! I'm going to be at work.
I hope I'll be able to pre order the album before the site crashes like when Highlighter came out. But vacation will be next week so I'll be able to listen to it without worrying about work.

I reckon I echo Twelves thoughts. I've no issues with people buying doubles (or more) from a collector perspective. It's the speculators who piss me off.
Take the hats for example. Back in the day you could go on pl70 and choose a hat and buy it. Now, they're sold out in minutes and appear on eBay before the buyer has received them. The records are worse, big sky shakedown are stupid price.
I reckon that this being the final album is gonna cause a meltdown with people trying to make a quick quid.I might buy 10 then resell for actual cost price plus postage.......
