That's a really well written piece. I suspect for many of us it's going to be a bit teary listening to it for the first time. Clearly Mikey touched a lot of people around the world, but I think it reminds us all of mortality and what the love of people close to us really means. For Chris to release an album like this, I think, speaks very highly of the man (and women, and men) behind the music.

Posts: 6Posted 3 years ago #Amazing so far... '90's Mike and Chris on the Porch' has the sound of 'Hit Me With That' by the Beatnuts who obviously have always had influence in music by PUTS... I love it. I bet they played that album (Street Level by the Beatnuts) all the time in the 90's. Crazy how songs attach themselves to moments in your life.

Me too! A couple teary moments, Kat O1O doing the Spartacus intro really hit hard. But I had my fists in the air and my head nodding throughout. Beautiful beautiful... I'll probably wait for the vinyl to arrive before I listen again properly.

The first half was a smooth fun ride, you can picture Mike and Chris going through their adventures of meeting up, chilling on the porch, going on tours, enjoying the highlights of life. Second half was where it was very emotional. Was tearing up through it and that final minute of the record just struck me hard. Like YoYoPo, definitely going to wait for the vinyl to arrive to give it another listen.

Posts: 145Posted 3 years ago #i wasn't gonna listen to it until my vinyl showed up, but listening to the album at the moment. but, yooo!! track four, 'Mike and Chris leave for their first tour' came from the Wonderful Radio track sessions video. i was freakin the f out when i heard the chord progression, bells, and the vibes! idk how many times i've watched that video

You probably heard the story but I’m going to tell it again. Thes One and Andy were so ready to record this song and upset that Double K and myself weren’t prepared. We didmy have anything written or any notes (secluded bars) to work with. We showed up at the studio a little tipsy and were laughing at Andy and Thes because they were so serious and we were like chill the f*** out and vibe.
K and I rolled a few blunts, went to the legendary Hat (world famous pastrami) and were still cracking up on how Thes and Andy were so uptight.
When K and I got back Thes was recording and had to go over his verse multiple times before he got it right. After being in the booth for 30 or so minutes K and i both walked in and nailed our verse first take.
We both got in to this hip hop sh!t to have fun and spit, never for the money or to become famous. listen to this again and you can tell how fun and easy going K and I were. Miss and love you bro bro!!!!!
