What a performance!
That's the best I've seen City play for a long time.
Joe Hart was outstanding again in goal.
He made some excellent saves to get his second clean sheet of season.
The best being a save down low to his right followed by a brillant double save seconds later.New signing James Milner was straight into the action and set up ex Villa team mate Barry for the 1st goal after some good work by Adam Johnson down the right who found MIlner in lots of space behind the Liverpool defence.
Milner then put it back to Barry who was by the penalty spot who sloted neatly into the bottom left hand corner out of reach of Reina.
Milner and Barry were working away and Milner even threw in a couple of tricks which the crowds loved.City's passing, moving and shape was a vast improvement on the Spurs game.
Little triangles, switching it wide to stretch Liverpool and breaking fast.
Every player worked so hard for the team. The second goal was a bit bundled and came from a corner!!
Which is unusual for City but was well deserved.
Micah Richards rising above everyone knocking it towards goal where Tevez's sock, Reina's shorts or Glen Johnson's shirt getting the final touch.Adam Johnson was in fine form as usual causing Liverpools defence lots of problems keeping width to City and using his pace and step overs to trouble the defence and getting the penalty which Tevez powered in to the back of the net sending Reina the wrong way.
Were you watching Fabio?!!
Could have done with him at the World Cup!Last night it was all about the Central Defence Midfielders, with Liverpool missing Mascherano and City playing 5 of them all over the pitch, Yaya Toure, James Milner, Gareth Barry, Vincent Kompany and Nigel De Jong.
Breaking down Liverpool, crowding them out and passing well.Overall a great performance and a well deserved 3 points.

yep, was a good game, caught the last half hour. My flat mate was saying milner was an absolute treat. City really look like they're starting to bond well now. Micah Richards is a unit eh?

Yeah Richards is a beast, he was playing how he played a couple of seasons ago.
Won some really good balls and was so strong and always eager to "bomb on" past Johnson.
He's only like 20 but he wasnt shying away from anyone.I've never doubted his athletic ability but last night he showed he's improved as a footballer.
Really good to see.Yeah Milner was really good, he just looked like he was really enjoying himself.
You couldnt tell that was the first game he'd played in a City shirt.
He seemed right at home.
Also a lot of great English talent on display Milner, Barry, Richards, A. Johnson and Joe Hart.Really happy with the result AND the performance.

More importantly, Louise was in ENTERNAL before she was a solo artist...
True about the english talent, all of whom didn't really get a look in at the world cup in favour of fuds like lampard and gerrard.

Yeah and where was Gerrard last night apart from bitching about the penalty decision and skying 2 shots?!
Haha how did you find that out Dodo?
Checked your CDs? -

Yeah totally. I went to the 90's RnB section and there it was staring at me.
I reckon if england field a young team and get rid of all these stodgy old f*cks then they could do a lot better. Although saying that, Scholes and Giggs are still class.

lol.
Yeah if there is one player I hate to see come off the bench in a Manchester derby its Scholes.
And even tho he's a United player I have a lot of time for Giggs, he's scored in every Premier League season, what a don.
Imagine if he'd choosen to play for England?!Yeah the World Cup was the time to take some fresh younger players.
Adam Johnson should have gone and Joe Hart should have been playing in goal all day long.Look at the other countries they all took young players!
