Ok, so Saakki dropped this on another thread:
And it reminded me of some cheesy 90's music I used to listen to when I was a kid, like:
Fookin classic. So rock up some bad boys from the old days (the nineties) that made the decade for you. Or whatever old school tunes you love... No hip hop though!
What about this bad boy? Reminds me of being at school and thinking I was the sh1t. (I wasn't)

Man, the 90s had some of the greatest music, i think the 80s were mostly whack tho
WHAT?!!
What?!!!! Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude no f***ing way.
The 80s sound is that of legend.
They may have been cheesy but you cannot call 80s music "whack"!!
Look at how many great 80s films there were, they wouldnt be anything without 80s music.
Top 10 selling singles of 1983
1 Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
2 Billy Joel - Uptown Girl
3 UB40 - Red Red Wine
4 David Bowie - Let's Dance
5 Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart
6 Men At Work - Down Under
7 Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
8 Spandau Ballet - True
9 Lionel Richie - All Night Long (All Night)
10 Phil Collins - You Can't Hurry Love
That's just one year!
Check out DJ Yoda's 'How to cut and paste the 80's' mix.
And if you can find it, which I doubt you can, a mix I did all on 80's Vinyl.
DJ Crispy 'back to the future 80's mix'
Peace.

Mate, apart from UB40 (and redredwine is boderline) that sounds like a wedding DJ setlist, i wonder what the suicide rate of 70s rockers was in 1983... pretty high looking at the top ten. lol.
im not saying the 90s were great (i mean hanson and mmmmbop for christ sake....easily worst song ever) but at least you had smashing pumpkins, nirvana, loasda early rave and late acid house (although acid house was 89 onwards so i suppose some of the last of the 80s were all right) hip hop was on the up, electronic music was on the up, small genres wre making it big! Pop music got well and truly shafted in the 90s, the 80s was a load of generic cr*p! Anyways, its all rubbish, coz as we all know the 60s had the best music EVER! not a single decade since has had so many great songs....

House music/rave music/acid house whatever truely blossomed in the 80's from disco and shizzle from the 70s.
If it wasnt for that we wouldnt have all the genres we have now.
Hip Hop had Run DMC, The Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Furious Five, Sugar Hill Gang, NWA, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, Eric B and Rakim, De La Soul, Special Ed, Gang Starr, Biz Markie the list goes on!
Some of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time!
Electronic music owes a hella lot to 80s music.
What happen to Hip Hop after 95 hey?!
Thank god PUTS came along in 98.
Peace.

I agree, but there was more terrible music in the 80s. lol. im in an argumentitive mood and i bn dropping spurious facts with no hard numbers all day.
i still rate the sixties as the best decade tho, i think its been said before, but if i had to choose 1 decade to live in it would be the 60s.

LOL. Never really a fan of "brit-pop", Blur were/are (did they reform?) pretty good, its all about Song 2 for me tho, Oasis were a**holes but i like sum of their tracks so i tend to ignore the egos n listen to the music.... For me the top british band has to be either manic street preachers or stereophonics (and not just because theyre welsh, lol). Im reading a biography on Iggy Pop ATM, really good read, how the hell hes still alive i dont know but really digging the stooges stuff (i know it aint really 90s but saves starting a new thread).
Cant believe how wasted he is!!!!
Peace
