"Nani...ROOOOOOOOOONNNNNNEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! It defies description. How about superb?"
"Nani...ROOOOOOOOOONNNNNNEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! It defies description. How about superb?"
LMAO.
Maaaaaan, I watched this with 4 Man Utd fans and just before the goal the commentator said something like "Rooney calculating..."
And I said "HA Rooney can't calculate" and as soon as I'd finished openning my big mouth POW he scores that goal!
Needless to say they jumped up and were making a lot of noise while I was choking on a haribo... I bet it was a red one
That was a nice goal. Wish he could do that a bit more for England...
Yeah, he did do a couple of really nice passes in the England game tho.
Anyway as Lee Dixon suggested... "shinna".
Lol.
The Arsenal game was sort of frustrating. One of the commentators summed it up nicely after one attack on goal came up empty. He said; "Same old Arsenal, trying to walk it in" and with as many chances as they had, should have won the game by far more than two goals.
Hopefully Arsenal can turn more of those opportunities to goals against Barca on Wednesday. Wishful thinking?
Wednesday's game is going to be a real test for Arsenal and hopefully very entertaining for the viewers.
Yeah Arsenal players need to shoot more instead of trying to score the perfect goal.
I really dont want to even try and guess what will happen.
I'm just excited to see these great teams play each other on tv.
Especially as I'll be playing indoor football at work that afternoon.
A nice week of football for me playing and watching... nothing better than your next game coming quickly after a loss (Aris Vs City Tuesday 5pm KO) I'll finish work early for that woop woop
Any predictions for Arsenal Vs Barca?
Also for Milan Vs Spurs?
I heard super Gareth Bale isn't making the trip?
Also I heard Real Madrid (?) were interested in Alan Hutton?!!
Yeah and Blue Peter want Gary Neville as their new presenter!!
Tonights match is gonna be very tough. I'm actually surprised we've managed to get to 4th in the league, what with all the injuries we have. No Bale at the moment, no Modric and no super Hudd either...
Plus our strikers can't score for sh!t!
I don't really like predicting scores. As I'm always wrong. Still I reckon we'll lose 2-1. Which will mean we'll have it all to play for at WHL.
Arsenal vs Barca is gonna be a close match. Normally a game like between attacking sides is normally a bit of a let down. I reckon a 0-0 draw is on the cards.
@Loudwon, I'm not too sure what will happen at The Emirates. My heart wants to say a 2-0 win for the Gunners but my mind is telling me a loss depending on how Arsenal decides to attack them. Do they play high or sit back? Do they do as Jack Wilshere suggests and "get nasty" to brandish that English style of football? All I know is it will be a stressful afternoon tomorrow at work while I'm listening to the game trying to get work done lol
Oh, what is that you do that you can play indoor football at work? Sounds fun. Must have understanding bosses lol.
@Chunkyrice, it appears that the Spurs will have to beat the best of Italy to progress through the Champion's League, no? First Inter now Milan. Do you think Spurs maintain their place in the top four of the EPL or will they fizzle out in April and May as history suggests they tend to do?
Well basicly I work with soliders and they have a sports afternoon on Wednesdays and after a trip to London I was talking to come civvies I work with who play indoor football with them and while drunk I probably said I was better than Rooney or something hahaha. So they asked me to play.
Anyway I joined a sports thing (to cover insurance) and now play at work (but after I've clocked out) on Wednesday.
We played against a team in Bath a couple of weeks ago (outside big pitch but hockey goals?!!) and I was a sub to start with, which pissed me right off coz I missed playing my 'normal' football coz it was a Thursday.
Anyway we were 2-0 down then I was asked to go in goal (I'm actually kinda good in goal but I keep that quiet) and I came on and we won 3-2... thanks to me I like to think hahaha.
I also play with mates on a Thursday evening at a local sports centre and I love that.
There are some really good players there and as a naff player it pushes me to try harder and tackle them etc.
Also great exercise, a good laugh and really enjoyable.
Thursday used to me my "favourite wreckage day" but now I play indoor football but I much perfer that.
Not that you asked all the Eso lol!
Dude, thats gonna be well hard for you, I couldn't do that... I'm finishing early to go and watch the City game soon
And tomorrow I'll be chilling with some beers watching Arsenal Vs Barca
I'll think of you working away trying to get a glimse of Nasri lol.
I dont know who has the tougher game Spurs or Arsenal?
When the top 4 of the Premier League was Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and Spurs (a few weeks ago) I said that is what the top 4 will be at the end of the season (not in that order)... but then Spurs slipped and Chelsea climbed and signed Torres and Luiz and sh!t. But its back to the top 4 of Utd, Arse (hehe) City and Spurs but like you say can Spurs maintain that... especially as they are meeting some very very tough opposition in the CL?
A great week of football (on tele and playing for me
) so I'm happy and I'm gonna be outta here real soon to get some brewskis and get comfy and watch CITY!!
Bet you've missed my random waffling hey haha.
PEACE!
@ esomedia. I think we'll end strong. We've got enough depth in strength to cope when we have injuries and don't seem to lose away matches as much as we use to. That said all the teams in the top 5 have very good squads and it's gonna be a matter of form and luck on our part if we're going retain 4th spot again. Chelsea losing to Liverpoo drawing with Fulham has helped us a lot...
I think the premier league is still our main concern. Champions league is just a bit of fun...
Loudwon aka Joe Hart!!! Need to get you a snazzy goalkeeper kit. Dye your hair blond too? You'd probably fit in as 3rd choice keeper for Arsenal! Are you as advanced as Higuita with the scorpion kicks? lol
When the game starts it will be 1:45pm here in Chicago. That's perfect for me as the day is somewhat winding down by then and I can relax sorting through financial data in spreadsheets for the remainder of the day. I'll have my video stream minimized but still have the audio on and simultaneously checking ESPN Live Scores for information I'll miss stepping away or something.
f*** we just beat AC Milan at the San Siro. COYS!
Fantastic results for Spurs and Arsenal.
I listened to the last 30 mins of live commentary for the Spurs game...
"Lennon going down the wing is he going to take his man on, he's got past him, LENNON DOWN THE WING he crosses it in for Crouch, he must score, he shoots, he's going to score HE HAS SCORED!!! CROUCH!!!"
I let out a cheer then
Milan sounded like a bunch of cheats especially Gattuso!
He's always been dirty... what example is he setting for children?
The Arsenal game was entertaining and enjoyable.
The Emirates crowd was excellent.
I think Arsenal deserved the victory... how did Van Persie score from that angle?!
Good to see Arshavin back to scoring ways.
Walcott was a constant threat and played well.
Now you've got to go to the Nou Camp!
Well done to Spurs and Arsenal.
Peace.
Lennon had their left back in his pocket the whole match. Briliant result for us.
On the downside it looks like we've lost Corluka for 3-4 weeks after that nasty two foot tackle for Flamini.
Thats a shame I like Corluka, he played very well for us and was always commited.
Is Bale still injured? You look low on fullbacks... altho you've got the Real Madrid target Alan Hutton lol.
How Milan managed to keep 11 men on the field I dont know... I think the San Siro faithful helped the ref make a few (wrong) decisions.
England has some great wingers at the moment Lennon, Walcott, Adam Johnson, Young and even Milner can play well in those position to name a few.
Have to add Jack Wilshire for a 19 year old played very well against the World Class midfield of Barca.
