I thought as quite a few folks on here are Ugly Duckling fans I thought I'd mentioned that their new album comes out in November.
But if you're in Japan it's out today :) so I've managed to order a copy, fingers crossed it'll turn up soon. I've heard it's going to be a lot more like their older stuff like Journey to Anywhere / Taste The Secret.
Who else plans to cop it??

I am all over this but not sure i canhandle the nearly £50 to get it from Amazon Japan....checked out the snippets and sounded good. I think UD are liek PUTS, yolu always know yoru going to get quality. Amazing live as well....i woudl say the best gig i've been to. Now how long before i crack and just order it........tick tick tick tick

Yeah I agree, seems a strange move...oh well gonna have to wait till it drops on itunes or the physical arrives at juno or something...
Its tough though, I want to buy this album TODAY, you'd think bands/labels would want their worldwide fanbase to support and buy as many units as possible on release day???
I reckon releasing in Japan 3 months early will just lead to people downloading it illegally and then never bothering to cop when it does drop here.
Never did understand staggered release dates, but especially not in this day and age.
I remember when Bang For The Buck came out I picked it up in selectadisc Nottingham on a japan import about 3 months before its scheduled release date. Nearly shat my jeans when I saw it.
Need to go listen to 'Shoot Your Shot' now.

Seem to recall this happening a couple of LP's back when they were on Handcuts (Japan). The CD dropped a few months before the vinyl/CD dropped via Fat Beats..

My bank account's tapped out, but this is high on my buy list. Gimme a few weeks and I'll probably cop this. Sounds dope.
I already have one of these tracks, though: it says "Einstein Buys A Monkey" is a track on the album according to amazon.co.jp, and that was a bonus track on Audacity when I bought it in Japan on my honeymoon (along with Audacity Part 3 feat Pigeon John). Not that I wouldn't mind the overlap, it's a great track... Funny as hell...

Potentially, I think it could be that they are still ironing out the details with the other record label they'll be releasing on (but don't hold me to that! :) )
If you can't wait you can download it on Link to DL you might have to use Google Translate for the Japanese though! :)
It works out at about £11 or so, I've already downloaded it and I can definitely say it's like a lot of their older stuff which is good news!
Damn Sactown seems like I need to get hold of the Japanese release of Audacity too then! :)

Okay, listened to it a few times through now (thanks turntablist for the DL link... I used my wife's credit card, ha!):
the skits are 100% pure "taste the secret" (which I like), and the concept of the album is pretty darn funny (it's UD though, so no surprise there)
the rhymes sound like taste the secret, bang for the buck, and audacity, but I can hear a little fresh mode/journey to anywhere in the beats (correct me if i'm wrong)
and "einstein buys a monkey" is remixed a bit from the version that was a bonus track on the Audacity Japanese release... the one on Audacity was a bit more bare bones, and the one on RABS's got way more scratches/samples in it (and a skit at the end).
the whole album's got a "la revelucion" feel to it, "sprint" sounds like andy's part of "andy vs. dizzy", and "$100 weekend" and "endless summer" have shades of "rio de janeiro"
all in all, it's another solid release. I'm feeling it. made my work day go by crazy fast.

Sactown, really impressed to hear your review. I'm waiting for payday (Friday) to DL the rest of the album but from what I heard of it (4 tracks) I thought exactly the same.
Diz no worries, thanks for correcting me! I forgot to ask is there going to be an LP release in October?
