   Highlighter Pre-ordered.....

   ...is it me or does this not happen much any more? - I remember years back not being able to sleep with excitement for an album to drop...ha...scouring the Source and HHC for a release date in the days before the internet when little or no information made its way up to me in the shires, having to ask a confused looking simpleton at Our Price to order me in an import for about £25 that 'wasn't listed in his book'...going in every week to check if it had come...and treating myself to a day off school 'sick' when it did land...

   This album has got me like that all over again like its '93 - probably because I know so little about it...

   Might have to book the day off work when it comes.

   Holy sh!t - just googled on a hunch and realised Highlighter drops almost 20 years to the day that Tribes Low End Theory came out - sept 24th 1991...one of the first records I remember that gave me THAT feeling.

   Who said hip-hop was a phase we'd grow out of?

   Can't wait for this to arrive - I just know its going to be another masterpiece.

   It's not you, it just doesn't happen in these modern, soulless 'downloading' times.
   For many, the joy of buying music has been lost, and has become nothing more than a few keystrokes.

   I'm doing all I can with my two...and my daughter (nearly 3) loves UD (sorry P!)...although she'll only listen to 'Everybody C'mon' and 'Einstein Do It (Night on Scratch Mountain)'!

   The P have taken us back, and we can only thank them for it.

   Nothing beats buying vinyl (even if mail order), and then putting it on the deck...in fact the feeling gets sweeter and sweeter the rarer vinyl becomes.

   You're bang on about the past...imports in days gone by were like Gold dust...and if you ever found any, you were too young to afford them!

   Happy times ahead...

   Yeah, the "Internet leak", downfall of the physical music stores, and the "get it any time I want" iTunes & torrenting communities have really gone a long way toward ruining the anticipation for new releases, fo' sho... For all the complaining ive done about lack of promo material being put out on Highlighter, it really is the smart Business model for an independent artist. I'm pissed at the part of me that wants the instant gratification of a leak or a preview, 'cause the rest if me is stoked to be waiting.

   We are in the era of everythign on demand....TV, Films, Games, Music....you name it and you can pretty much get it whenever you want. In some ways of course this is a good thing but where music is concerned there is nothing like a bit of mystery. I feel like i am very thirsty and i am just waiting now for that glass of water that i know will be coming my way....as with alot of things in life anticipation is the thing that is good. Also i cannot believe Low End Theory came out 20years ago.....i remember pickign that up on tape when it was released (still sounds good today).

   And on the Internet subject, I have yet to see Highlighter "leak" which is awesome... says a lot when an artist takes control of ALL aspects: make all the money and fully control who touches your goods, eliminating the middle-makin'-money-however man from the loop. Props PL70!

    Question about the digital download: Any chance that the e-mails for the download will be sent out for a midnight release on the night of the 22nd (morning of the 23rd) I don't want to be at work when it drops!

    Working this out right now, will let you guys as soon as I know the timing of how the emails will be sent out.
