I was p*ssed: the other day, Amazon.com's "Gold Box Deal of the Day" was a pair of top of the line Seinheiser headphones for SUPER cheap... I think it was like 65% off the market price... I told myself that, when i got home, I'd look at my account and possible get a pair... then I forgot. F&*$!!
EDIT: We derail a lot, don't we?
I think we just all know Highlighter's the sh*t already though, so... yeah, back to headphones

Well, I guess I won't be spinning wax until January or so.Yo, Instro... you gonna get it in time if it comes in by next week? Or you still gonna have to wait?
Hope you get some Highlighter goodness this year, homie.Nah, unfortunately not. I'm leaving for my beginning training as a naval flight officer on Friday and that part of the training will last 12 weeks. Plus I just got this email. No worries though, so long as it gets to me in the end, I'll be happy!

I bought those cans for work. I work in an office where the walls are thin, there are generators directly above me, and lots of industrial noise if I walk out of my office area. These cans have saved my ears and head.

All,
A message from Thes...he must be going through some serious sh!t right now, but he'll get there...and we'll get it...
Where’s my vinyl?
I’m asking the same thing. The short answer is that it’s coming and it’s running late, though we are doing everything within our physical power to expedite the process. The long answer is a little more complicated.
Making vinyl records is a process that involves multiple steps of complicated chemical process and physical treatment working in perfect harmony; all of this carried on the back of a technology that hasn’t been updated since the 70’s. In this intricate chain there are always points where things can go wrong, yet in my 13 year history of making records, I have never seen so many incidents, accidents and screw ups in one project. It is even more frustrating when they are out of our control and we are the low men on the proverbial totem pole at the pressing plants. When Universal calls the plant, they get a call back – Piecelock doesn’t. I have driven the 40-mile trek from the house to the plant numerous times over the last two weeks but no matter how hard I try, these production hiccups have simply been out of my hands. It has been extremely frustrating, to the point where I have lost not only sleep but also many days working on the project due the situation. I take your trust in PUTS and PL70 very seriously and feel an overwhelming obligation to all of you, the fans, who have supported us and believed in this. As such I will not release a subpar product that is not worth your hard earned money.
That said, we have had to make new labels (the printer made the original ones misaligned), new metalwork (the plant accidental destroyed the first laquers), and re-cut the entire record because of a noise issue caused by plating. We have lost over a month now because of these issues, and I was informed last night after working all day long and driving endlessly around the basin of LA that we are going to have to start all over again. Again.
We are now done with the first plant. They have destroyed everything we have worked for with less than an apology. I am abandoning the project there, the money I have paid them and the time spent and starting over at Bill Smith Custom records here in LA. Kevin, who runs the operation, is being extremely helpful and understanding of the situation and is going to ensure that this is a priority record and gets done as fast as possible with the utmost care and quality. They are a smaller plant that operates like us - small businesses banding together to do something memorable. There are also going to be some new surprises in store. The packaging has already been nominated for a slew of awards and I know that you will be extremely pleased with the final product. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Again, I sincerely apologize for the delay and thank you for your understanding as we work through this. Good things come to those who…. Well, you know how it goes.

You got to feel for them must b a nightmare, sounds like they have found the sort partner that understands the vision now though. At the end of the day I am sure everyone is more than willing to wait as we know it will be quality. Business is always a learning curve and what doesn't kill u makes u stronger.

Aye, no problem waiting for quality.
On the up side, my CD and Piecelock T turned up today...just in time as I'm away this weekend so it's going to get some serious airtime in the car.
As expected the packaging is the sh!t, and got x3 #7 stickers.
Give it up for the P...

Name and shame!
I feel bad for you guys. Hopefully there'll be some kind of karmic counterbalance to all the bad luck with manufacturers (the BS New Era gave you about the fitted hats comes to mind) sometime soon.

Damn.. sh*t keeps happening that is out of his control, must be so maddening.
Going with a smaller pressing plant sounds like a good thing though as they will understand where thes is coming from and I'm sure will value the business thes is giving them a lot more than the other pressing plant!
Who knows... it could even turn out to be blessing in disguise if this pressing goes well and lead to many years of them working together. We are all behind you Thes and all at PL70 :)

Man that sucks PL70 is getting dick'd around so hard... Sound like they have found a pressing partnership that will be good for both sides because of it though! I can wait as long as it takes, no questions asked...
Thanks to Thes for doing all that one could possibly do, but man don't stress so hard. I appreciate the fact that you guys appreciate us, the fans, so much... at the end of the day you just gotta c h i l l. We will always understand man, once people have proven themselves the usual skepticism one has goes right out the door...
