...so what do you think? I'd hate to say it, but maybe the Mac Miller track got more of the younger audience looking at the P? I'm not crazy about him, like a lot of people here on the boards, and I wouldn't put it all on him, but it might've had something to do with it... there's a lot of PUTS on YouTube now, too... I don't know... any thoughts?
I can assure all of you that the people who buy PUTS albums are the real OG MFers like yourselves, and that is our focus. All of the stuff with Mac Miller - it's fun, he's a good kid who struck a nerve and has an impressive team of his friends behind him. It's going to be a very interesting and eye-opening tour as far as seeing into a very different generation and demographic of music fans. If they're down, rad - the P is for everybody, no matter what background, age, gender or favorite rappeur-du-jour. If not, we know you're still here, and none of that changes our focus on creating and releasing great music.
As far as more kids finding out about PUTS - kids are amazing when it comes to finding out about new music. Youtube is an incredibly powerful discovery engine and I kid you not, thousands of people hear any given artist's music for the first time every single day because of it. The problem is that only a tiny fraction of those people chunk down a little money for an album. What we've done with PL70 is try to do our best to make that small purchase worthwhile, and make it clear where that money goes and how much it means.
In reality there are all of a few dozen people who regularly post here on the forum. But you guys will always matter more to us than however many thousands of people click play on Youtube.
