I have to say that Panacea is a highly undervalued group... Every single one of their albums (Thinking Back Looking Forward, Ink Is My Drink, The Scenic Route, A Mind On A Ship Through Time, 12 Step Program) & their other stuff (Corkscrew Gaps EP, The Re-Route) have some absolute gems on it. Every now and then, I hear a song I'm just not that into, but most of them are really really innovative with their soundscapes. Check out the following tracks for an idea of why Panacea is awesome: "Limitless Page", "Place on Earth", "Steel Kites", "Starlite", "Pops Said", "Blue Ice", "Square 1", "The Scenic Route", "Orange Penicillin", "L.A. VA", "Blue Oceanwave", "Texas Jigsaw Massacre"
I wish there was a radio station that played PUTS, UD, Panacea, Nujabes, Living Legends, Freestyle Fellowship, Jurassic 5, Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, etc. etc. etc.

The best way I can explain blip.fm is like twitter for music. You can listen to other people's streams, or create your own. I mainly listen to the group I follow as well as "blip" the songs I want to hear. I find a lot of new music I haven't heard this way. The only thing that I don't like is when tracks have become unavailable. I have lost some really good live sets and remixes because they get blocked on youtube, or taken off the web.

Sactown before you dive into Book Of Human Language a little tip: Check out Mumbles - A Book Of Human Beats and then listen to the Ace1 version. Acey is amazing how he picks out such unique rhythm's, dude is so sick. You will have your mind Project Blown! Man I love being around a bunch of like-minded cats that love the sh!t I do!

What ever happened to Mumbles? I remember getting the Deep Concentration compilation CD and it had the same beat to one of the songs on ABoHL. I must have freestyled for at least an hour to that beat in my dorm room.

No worries. The internet is hard to navigate at times. I tend to pre-qualify my statements so that I don't get mis-enterpreted. Don't want to start arguments with people I agree with.

A lot of great LPs get overlooked because of other classic albums by the same artist which, for whatever reason, are better known or more significant...
Cypress Hill's Temples of Boom still gets overlooked, coming out after the two titanic hip hop LPs that preceded it...
Cool J's Walking With a Panther, similarly, sits between the shadows of Radio / BAD and Mama Said Knock You Out, but it's an awesome album in its own right. The original version of Jingling Baby is still my jam!
Onyx's 2nd LP, All We Got Iz Us, is one of the darkest and grimiest albums I can think of. Awesome production and way better than Bacdafucup in my opinion.
Ultramagnetics - both Funk Your Head Up and The Four Horsemen have some great tracks on them. Definitely not as classic as Beatdown, but both great LPs.
The Main Ingredient gets overlooked because of Mecca and the Soul Brother... For me, no contest, Main Ingredient is one of the greatest LPs of all time.
De La's Buhloone Mindstate - same thing goes, one of the greatest. Everyone knows their first two albums and (now) everyone knows Stakes (if only 'cause of Jay Dee) but Prince Paul and De La were absolutely on point on Buhloone Mindstate. Easily their best LP.
Speaking of Prince Paul, it's amazing how many people don't know Gravediggaz' first LP, 6 Feet Deep / Niggamortis. Prince Paul and Gza on production - are you kidding me?!?
Digable Planets' Blowout Comb is one of the greats, but practically unknown compared to their debut.
Also, 21 & Over by Tha 'Liks doesn't get mentioned enough.
Kurious' A Consipated Monkey is crazy - Beatnuts produced most of it so you know the beats are on fire and he was a dope MC. If you can pick up the reissue you also get A Mansion and a Yacht (with Mike G and Sadat X) as a bonus track, which was only originally released as a B-side.
If anybody's into French hip hop, check out Saian Supa Crew's X-Raisons. There are some classic jams on there.

Easily their best LP.I agree, but I was talking with Double K during the Oakland show, and he said that he wasn't all that crazy about Buhloone... sorta knocked me over. I didn't really draw him out on reasons why, though. He was ALL about De La Soul Is Dead though. He said that, when that came out, it blew his mind. Maybe he's not as down with Buhloone 'cause he was so impressed by Dead. It's happened before with me and a few artists, and I know it happened to some people with PUTS when Stepfather came out.
But Buhloone Mindstate is a classic, though, no doubt.
Double and I also started up a "Peas Porridge in the POT... Peas Porridge in the POT" right next to the merch table... the kids at the table were confuuuused.

This album is the ultimate cool-out. Creamy spies, May 4th Movement, Black Ego, For Corners... waaaaaaay too much good sh*t. My idea for doing the PUTS lyrics site actually came from an idea back in college that I was going to make a DP lyrics site. Maybe I still could one day... not sure.
