good call DC
the computer I had at the time, IBM 286 if I remember correctly, had a sound blaster card that could loop 2 bars. so, drums on the computer looping, gemini dropping the sample straight to the 4 track tape recorder. Mic in the hand and we were off....
That is the same way that live at the fishbucket (b-side of the first twelve inch, second press) was recorded as well.
if looking for the original slow bullet record, think matchbook cover.
Gee- i don't know, maybe but not everything that was on there, that's for my man who got it right there... -

Posted 16 years ago #And almost all the others on this thread, for that matter.
Lots of other regular posters, from back in the days, seem to have vanished (1984-like).
YoYo, speaking of which (Eso, SLC Head for that matter)
Has there ever been some kind of great big drought?
Just no posting whatsoever, and the regulars just disappeared, because they thought it wasn't going to come back? -
Posted 16 years ago #posts always picked up around the release of an album.

Posted 16 years ago #Thes,
Please resurrect the mini iPod auction in some form or fashion. Some of us die hards would LOVE to hear what was on that iPod. We crave any and everything that's unreleased People Under The Stairs. Even if you offer it through back channels like PM's or through the Christmas email list, we would cherish it like nothing else.
Can't speak for everyone, but if I were "chosen" to purchase/receive something like this, I would not distribute it to even my closest friends. I would not speak mention of it. It would be my most sacred musical treasure. -

I'll +1 this too, for what it's worth, but I have a feeling we won't see this stuff resurface for a while, if ever.

I think that keeping a track or two (or five, or seven) ULTRA-rare is a good way to do things as a musical artists. in the words of UD, it "keeps 'em wanting more like a sumo at a salad bar". there are some deadheads and smashing pumpkins fans who are STILL on the trail of some rare live show or b-side or outtake.
I admit that I want all of it, but it's actually nice to NOT have it all 'cause it still gives me something to achieve on the PUTS front. if I had it all, I'd just have to jump off a cliff, 'cause there'd be nothing left to live for... well, maybe the next PUTS album

Posted 16 years ago #Man, I'd sign a confidentiality agreement stating i'll never distribute the music. They could even tag the song file metadata or say my name over the track somewhere so that if by some rare chance, I slip up and distribute the music, they could find me and "deal" with me. lol
