Okay, so we're all at least little guilty of being sycophantic on these forums, so I thought it would be fun to pick out the PUTS tracks you really don't like. There may even be some you outright hate; you think they suck and tarnish the otherwise hallowed name of The P.

i always have had a few, like 8 is enuff, but they always grow on me over time, and now 8 is enuff is one of my favorites.
i have at least 2 i could name here but im sure they'll be my new favorites in a year. the beauty of the depth of the P

Aw man I actually really, really like The Joyride. Definitely one of my favorites from OST and one of the most underrated songs on that album. The bassline is just ridiculously sick. "It's K One and Double Thes ya necks please protect!"
I think the one P song I could forever live without is Creepshow. Yeah, I get it's a homage to that one Pharcyde track, but that sh!t is just weird/unsettling. Sure that's the point of the track but I could live without it. I wish All Good Things made it and Creepshow got kicked off.... The awesomeness of Carried Away more than makes up for it though

Okay, so I know I'm probably the total a**-kisser on the board, so this probably won't come as a surprise to anyone, but... I don't know that I have any P tracks that I absolutely hate. As far as "living without" some tracks... Tamburo 5 and I-15 probably get skipped the most when I'm listening through the P... but even then, they aren't universally skipped.
As long as we're clearing the air here... I've never liked how Question in the Form of an Answer ends... like... I know a lot of artists like to use outros, closing skits, and thank yous and all that, but it just doesn't seem like a PUTS move to end things like that... every other album has a strong closer, but that album sorta... peters off. If they'd ended it at We'll Be There (or moved it so Earth Travelers was the closer!!!), it woulda been closer to the P's M.O. I guess the P are just one of those groups that I'm never really critical of.
Or maybe it's just 'cause I've been moving farther and farther from "passing judgment" as I get older. I just see everyone blogging or messaging their opinions all over the place like they are the greatest critics that ever lived, and it just makes me want to stop doing it myself. "Fight Club" doesn't have to be an epic movie, conservatives don't have to all be numbskulls, I don't have to stand outside a courthouse and cheer when a murderer gets sentenced to death, and I don't really need to search for songs to dislike or like anymore. It's like... I want to find a way to experience so much during the rest of my life that I don't have time to slow down to judge what was already experienced...

Gotta be honest, guest MCs always ruin it for me. California would be so much better without the middle verse. More often than not I skip Acid Raindrops because I just think Camel MC is so far from being in the same class as The P and, for me, it bring the whole track down. One of the reasons they have remained in a class of their own is that they don't wheel in a guest MC for every other track...

Got some caveats, though: I really like Kidd Lexus, JazMak, and Odell. I have to admit that, while I think they are dope, Lex's flows don't really puzzle-piece into the P very well either (Mak and Odell fit a bit more smoothly into the scheme). And of course, there's G Clinton... that guy could come into the studio, COUGH on a track, and the sh*t would still find a way to be funky.

In all honesty, theres not much i could live without coming from PUTS, if i had to be honest i would say that i still dont get on with the first couple of tracks from The Next Step (death of a salesman, hardcore, wannabes and ten tough guys) i dont know why, prehaps coming from my musical backround they are usually the ones that get skipped most often (well according to play count on itunes anyways) but thats about it, my musical taste is changing all the time though so i wouldnt be surprised if i enjoy the whole catalouge in a few years. lol.
Intrestingly, the PUTS song most played on my itunes is All Good Things (77 plays) which i never really thought was my favourite but appears to be, Time to Rock our sh!t came second (my personal favourite ATM) with 62 and the rest of them are around the 50 mark...

Haha with the exception of Empty Bottles of Water (never liked that track either), you just basically listed all my favorite P songs, Breakdown and Out Da Club especially

Oh sh!t, but re-reading your post it looks like you thought we were listing songs you CAN'T live without. well then. I still think Empty Bottles of Water isn't that great... I'll probably get crucified for that cuz I know it's a forum favorite haha

There are some songs that I do not prefer or tend to "skip" over, but when it really comes down to it, I need all these guy's tunes. I'll be damned if I be listening to some corny bullshizzle skipping EVERY song. At least with the P, the magical jams far outweigh the subpar tunes. And maybe some of their less-impressive tunes help make us appreciate their classics and opuses.
Never liked "California" though....I guess it's that vocal sample, and the cleanness of the recording. The two-step beat is very creative though...so see? It's tough to really hate anything these fellas bang out!

"California" and "Love's Theme" (and to a lesser extent, "Can't Hold It Back") are tracks that I've got WAY mixed feelings about. I don't skip them, and I like them, but something doesn't sit right with me. Basically, I act like a purist sometimes with my hip-hop, and vocal effects (like the Love's Theme bridge), certain rapper's flows (like Blvme's on California), and certain beats (like Can't Hold It Back) aren't really my favorite ways to construct a track.
BUT I think that I don't like those things because of their overuse in popular art forms. I didn't have a problem with Herbie Hancock's vocoder use, but I hate T-Pain auto-tune... why? I think it's 'cause I feel like it got a) played out and b) used by people so it would LOOK like they have talent. But in the case of Herbie and PUTS, I KNOW that they have crazy mad talents, so I look at it as an embellishment, not a lifeline. I just need to expand my mind, I guess...

Oh sh!t, totally forgot about Party Enemy No. 1. the rest of FUN DMC really grew on me to become one of my favorites by the P but I could never get into the sample/beat/vocal effects on that one. I always skip it whenever I watch the PUTS anniversary DVD too, sh!t just drags on too long for my liking.
