Posted 20 years ago #today i went to tres records site... looked for updates... bugged off thes' home page beat for a while... then i came over here... to my delight, i saw the headline "WEST COAST TOUR DATES".... ooooooooooh baby! i almost had to slap a bitch! i missed the july 3rd party at frisco, but... oh man! im not missing this one! a saturday night of musical dope up near my home... i can't wait! i went to go see hiero the other night (catalyst in santa cruz), and there were a ton of phony motherfuckers chanting "hiero" while other artists performed.... what's up with that sh!t? they did it while OC (diggin in the crates, Big L's homeboy) was spittin his sh!t... it's sad to see that these kids now appreciate the name more than the music, and the more depressing fact that these kids dont know who the originators are. f*** that. that's why im looking forward to a puts show: true hip hop heads who appreciate the sounds more than a name that rolls off everyone's tounge. Stay true p heads. I'll see ya in a month, thes, double k and fellow hip hop connoiseurs. one.

Posted 20 years ago #Chanting "Heiro" during OC's set? Man, f*** that! I hate some of these fans now a daze....it's like this dude the other day was like man I like that new 50 cent song, but who the f*** are these mobb deep doods......

Posted 20 years ago #Face it, the youth of the day is more debased and tarnished than ever. Kids like to act hip hop, but dont know of the true epitome of hip hop, they are a breed of followers of larger followers of corporate artificial makings. They like hip hop not beacuse its the things to do, but because its the thing to do that the next man do.
I dont want to go into that too much, but yea wtf with not only chanting heiro on OC's set, but just being unrespectfull at the most. damn... -

I'm part of the youth you speak of, but I was always raised to respect my elders, well every body really. -
Posted 20 years ago #Well majority, i know theres still good peoples out there, like yourself.
off topic but, sometimes its like i date somone whos only one year younger than me, and it feels like five years the difference.. respect is good to have, im glad you mentioned that. -
Posted 20 years ago #R-E-S-P-E-C-T is all we need... maybe a lil weed too
Too bad for all those suckas pHuckin' up OC's set, that kat can rock it f'real. I just saw that same show you saw a week or so ago in SLC & what a show! OC had the crowd movin that's f'sho'. It was Non Phixion's last night of the tour & they were rollin' as was Boom Bap Project. This goes without sayin, but I will say anyway, Hiero Can rock miC's like Wood's on a links. I digress, the youth of today in general does seem very lacking...which would in turn make the few that recognize the ways even more special & gifted. \
BTW Nat, how did Hiero React to the crowd? were they sayin it was disrespectful or sayin props for the love shown... -

I believe its
"I'm only nineteen but my mind is old,and when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold"
But i see what ya`ll are talking about. I go to shows and people are just talkin about hip hop, i mean out of the norm. Like Hip Hop This Hip Hop That, its like hearing someone talkin about how black they are, "yea im black like this, and blackk like dat"..Come on men, lets smack the sh!t out of these kids....Kids now look at hip hop and give off this whole "f*** mainstream" type bullshizzle, whats wrong with listenin with stuff on the radio??? I do, does that make me less of a true music lover??? I see kids using hip hop as f***ing validation to show they are down. thats some insecure bullshizzle. I`ll listen to all the Kenny Rogers and Misfits I want and i`ll still be HIP HOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

exactly, I'll be listening to some metal and still fell the hip hop. Like man this week I met some girl who'se in to some of the same rock bands I like. But then I got out my copy of HHC to read and she was like "you listen to hip hop!?"
I was like, yeah and what. to restrict yourself to just one thing ain't good -
Posted 20 years ago #Yeah you'r right about the properness of Ps line, its his thick QB accent that kinda slurs the old, sounds almost like "oldeh".. But word up on that VALIDATION bull sh!t, lotta cats front to look cool, upsetting when someone claims they are a head but haven't listened to anything pre 2000 or the like...save maybe the classics i.e nwa, dre, tupac or biggie. You mention like brand nubian or somethin and they get this weird look on their face.. I don't listen to much radio stuff b/c I'm not really feelin the beats 9/10 times, i.e hyper pitched soul or those glossy beats. I just ignore those peeps that I meet they try so hard to be down that in the end it just defeats the purpose. I never try to act cool about hiphop...sh!t if you saw me around most likely wouldn't have any clue as to what I'm like or what I listen to...maybe I'm not hiphop enough for some people :-?

i dont like sh!t on the radio that much but i listen with an open mind and ears. If we are gonna defeat this crap radio sh!t we gotta listen to it and then tackle it. We have to GO IN the MIND of the ENEMY, to DEFEAT the ENEMY. So i listen to all that fake cruuuuuuunnkkkk sshit. If people really think lil jon is crunk music they have never heard REAL CRUNK MUSIC. The REAL CRUNK Music IM Talkin about is OUTKAST, Thats The REAL CRUNK!!! Im I Wrong??? Come on man B.O.B. Is a harder track than "GET LOW", but get low is still a banger. But anywayzzzzzz........
just like when people have open minds to real Hip-Hop, we gotta have open minds to fake hip hop. We cant sterotype people because this cycle of hate and dissin' has got to stop. They are doing their thing and we are doing ours. We are diggin, stayin up late, going to skool, working, making music...our dedication will long surpass Lil' Jon, a hundred years from now, people might be studying me or you or people under the stairs very criticly, but because we didnt get credit while we were alive doesnt mean we didnt stay true or succeeded.... -
Posted 20 years ago #very true x2, azuza, and yes outkast lays waste to ANY lil jon beat. Open mind statement is right as well, but man I don't know, sometimes I can only take so much talk about sittin on 24"s
Nonetheless I have faith that the wicked will fall.
