Bringin' the Best Together (at least on paper)

Posted 20 years ago #So I don't know about the rest of you, but I spend a lot of time wishing certain acts would come together, either in tour fashion or just hooking up and laying a track together. When Thes worked with Z-Trip for the b/s on "Noonen", I knew cats like Thunderthumbs were probably doing the same thing, since the degree seperation between fan and MC isn't too horribly divided.
So I start this topic with this question; if you could bring any acts together; PUTS with anyone, Thes or Double K with anyone, or whoever you think needs to hook up with somebody else, post it aqui (whether or not you speak spanish). This is probably just Wishful Thinking I've devoted this to, but I think it could be interesting...
1) Andre 3000 and Q-Tip; lets see Andre and Kamaal combine forces to make the third abstract hip-hop album the charm...
2) SlimKid 3, Gift of Gab, and Brother ?uestion; I dreamt this one, Roots/Pharcyde/Blackalicious tour, for some reason these three just started jamming, and the combination would work (? would have to bring back the rhymes from Organix and Do You Want More, but I've wanted that for awhile)
3) People Under the Stairs and Collective Efforts; my only effort to unite east and west coast; if you think there isn't a market for PUTS down south, CE is the retort. I think DJ Creashun has done beats for Giant Panda (90's, I want it double checked if somebody has the liner notes and can tell me), and Ben's guitar combined with KK's scratches would blow so many minds. -
Posted 20 years ago #90s was produced by Newman, CE are pretty dope, don't know about any GP link though...
-
Posted 20 years ago #Appreciate the info, it's probably like KK "say[ing] peace to P.A.", it might deal with Parental Advisory, a dope pair of MC's out of Atlanta, or it may be something more in Mike's immediate circle, and I just assume the connection.
Glad to hear some U.K. cats are peepin' that CE, but then I'd expect no less from YoYo -
Posted 20 years ago #truth be told NRA I only listened to CE on the net - I think their CDs are hard to find in UK but I'll keep my eyes open
also, when KK says "peace to PA" it could be referring to Peter Agoston who did a lot of sh!t with them, he runs Female Fun Records and Culturama, nice guy, he even sent me a CD
edit - but i don't know, could be anything, ask KK ? -
Posted 20 years ago #Time Machine and Ugly Duckling should hook up, lyrically their quite similar.
-
Posted 20 years ago #UD hooked up with M-Flo, that was a dope combo
I can't actually think of any combos i'm wanting... :/ -
Posted 20 years ago #i missed a dope tour
puts and cunninlynguists west coast tour
that would be the show to end all shows, to tell you the truth. -
Posted 20 years ago #natural; tell me if cunninlynguists are still rappin' with a cat named Jugga?
-
Posted 20 years ago #OK, realizing that Pete Rock and CL Smooth will probably never reunite for a whole cd, have CL do a solo lp but with production from the best producers that wouldn't try to replace Pete but give some ample production. Im thinking thes, sp, xcel, diamond d, automator, primo, rj, edan, madlib, large p, einstein....

i dont know if he's on their new album, but Mr.SOS isn't with them anymore and they pick up natti for their new cd... tonedeff, cee-lo and immortal technique are gonna be on that cd too... it's gonna be ill. -

Ah Cee-Lo, Holy Man or Antichrist? We may never really know the answer to that, but him with the Cunninlynguists should definitely be dope.

Check out that L.A. Mike mix, you'll find some Pete Rock lyrics... -
Posted 20 years ago #I thought so, just when I saw him live he was only DJing so I was like 'damn I thought he rapped too'
-
Posted 20 years ago #He raps everyone once in a while on some tracks but...you know, it's not his strongest point
