I was listening to that Jim Croce album, and it just made me think of doing the thread... there are three non-hit songs on that Croce album that are dynamite ("Tomorrow's Gonna Be A Brighter Day", "Box #10", and "Hard Time Losin' Man"). I also feel like it'll get some heads listening to more than just the classics. Like... everyone might have heard Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" off Just As I Am, but have you heard "Better Off Dead"? Good sh*t; the man sounds tortured.
Also, I remember Thes talking about an album being an "event", and how we're so single driven now, so I figured... good time for the thread.

Posts: 349Posted 14 years ago #Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers: Maybe an obvious pick but it's still incredible to this day, gets better every listen, every single track a classic. That album changed everything.
The Roots - Things Fall Apart: A complex, dense masterpiece of lyrics and musicianship. I still think Black Thought is the best to ever do it, bar none and he's f***ing ridiculous on this one.
PUTS - O.S.T. : Another obvious choice, I could argue that any and all of the PUTS canon is perfect but this to me is the P manifesto and the quintessential summer hip hop album
