50cents new song "window shoppper" its the biggest peice of sh!t right now in hip hop. i find in really insulting hip hop and to people like us on this forum what now seems to be supporting a lost art.

No, he really isnt a good rapper. But he can pick beats and write a hook. That is what sells, especially in the club. So, he is not trash. He knows what he is doing, and he does it well. -

Posts: 384Posted 20 years ago #Eh, i had a cool cd my friend made me once, with 50 and other talents, sick sick beats, then a few months after that i started seeing him on tv, and no other songs after that appealed to me.
Sure, ive liked a few of the beats hes made a song to now, even if i thought the song was crap, still doesnt make me like how he do things. The 50 on that mix cd i had and the one i hear for the club songs are two different dudes. -

??? i would like to say that making good music is hard to do and is not easily achieved with just a catchy hook. i would also like to say that making music should be much much more than that and should be viewed as an artisitic medium rather then a "get rich quick" scheme. -

i really couldnt give a damn about what abunch of 16 year old girls buy. christina aguilera and linkin park also sell millions of copies. i was talkin about his music. -

Posts: 91Posted 20 years ago #i cant imagine 50 going into the studio, writing lyrics, and working with the producer making beats. i would love to see that, and untill i do i will remain thinking that all he does is go in, record a few verses and then leave the rest to the producer. there aint a hip hop bone in his body. -

A lot of people buy it. And whether or not he is trash is debatable. I for one do not like dudes music. But I do know that he KNOWS how to work it. HE knows what to do to make a hot club single. and he does it well. HE IS GOOD AT THAT.
He gets play in 99% of clubs that play dance and rap music. He gets requested at these clubs. He is doing something right. And if he wasnt doing it well it wouldnt be working.
You guys are comparing it to underground type stuff. Its two different worlds. I mean lets face it, 50 doesnt make music for you. Its useless to critisize it. If PUTS made sh!t like "candy shop" one day, I would understand your guys criticism. I mean lets face it, people in clubs want to hear 50 rap the hook "Ill take you to the candy shop" and they sure has hell dont want to hear underground groups rappin about diggin. Hell, when I am at the club that is what I want to hear, I want to hear Diplomats, Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Lloyd banks etc... When I am at home, I would rather hear the underground joints.
Though his music might suck, 50 is good at what he does. And what he does is make music that can get play in the clubs and blow up. That is a fact.
