i got a question for any DJ's here:
what weight do u have it set on for the tone arm? it skips when i scratch too fast, and i have the shure m44-7's.
Yo man, I got Ortofon needles... the new Qbert ones, and before this I used a pair of Shure Whitelabels, and what I find best to work is to take the counterweight off and put it on backwards, screwing it forward all the way and than back until the weight clicks in place (this is for tech tables by the way)... And some height helps, so put it at 2.5 with the anti-skate at 3! This should work for you man, but if you're using Shure M44's you may not need to add so much weight, just set the height up in the 2's and the anti skate to 3. I hope this helps,
yo thanks Dennis for the tip.
I have techs btw.
im kinda confused with the weights tho....
im wondering what the weight should be for the tone arm.
thanks a lot!
LA CONNECT! For the tone-arm weight, what I do, and I know a lot of scratch DJ's do this as well, is to spin the counterweight off of the arm (if the numbers are facing towards the needle, which they most likely will), and turn it around so that the numbers are facing outwards (away from needle). Than spin the counterweight back on the arm until it can't go further. Now slide it back until you hear a click in the tonearm and this is where you should leave the weight. This is an ideal scratch set-up and I know it works for a lot of people.
