Posts: 334Posted 20 years ago #I was recently at a 4 day music festival in Lawrence KS, USA called WAKARUSA Later nicked named COPARUSA. I was sittin' along a main drag with some friends playin' Questions in the Form of Answers. As soon as I turned around to put in O.S.T a cop pulled my back pack away from me and searched my bag. He found my cd case, my pipe, and an empty bag. I was immidiatly arrested without being told what I was being arrested for, and without being read my rights. Now hand cuffed in the back of a police golf cart as the officer looked around a large area where everyone scattered after I got snagged and found an Ounce of some of the sticky and pinned it on me. This was two days into the fest. I had a back stage pass for Les Claypool that night and the ticket was $140 for the weekend. So after stayin' two days in jail I was released because they dropped the charges for these reansons not readin' me my rights, no reason to search me, and pinnin' an ounce on me that was found 10 yards away from me. I'm still not finished getting screwed yet. I asked were is my back pack, my radio, and my money ($300 cash). I was told they dont have it. So I was broke in Kansas and told I was inecent. So basicly I was robbed By the Douglas County police at this point. All my CDS are gone as well as my radio that Double and Thes had signed in Chicago. My CDs included my lessons collection 1 2 and 3, My keb Darge collection, My RJD2 Your Face and Your Knee Caps, and last but not least My whole People Under the Stairs collection NOT INCLUDING MITHAI but every thing else. Right now I'm Tryin' to get it all back but Im getttin' the run around. I'm home know in Chicago and It's makin' it alot harder to track my stuff down. Just thought I would tell my friends on the boards my horror story. If there are any lawyers that want to help me in this matter just post it up here so every one knows their rights. Right now me and 10 other kids that were wrongfuly arrested at the festival are filein' a class action suit agianst Douglas County so wish us good luck, also wish me luck in tryin' to find my collection.

THaT is wack man, can't say THaT i am surprised THougH. Cops have THe George W syndrome, They are all narcissistic assholes! What happened to civil rights in THis crumbling democracy!?! I was glad to read THaT you kats are suein' THeir asses! Take it to 'em man, & i hope you get your music collection back...

Those chumps sound scared as f@#$. I justed rememberd that one of the kids that I met in jail that originaly told me about the suit has a PHD so that helps. -

I remeber once I got nicked for swearing during Holloween night.
They sent me to Holborn (near Kings Cross for anyone whos visited London), fingerprinted me etc... And the old bill had the nerve to steal my bus pass so I couldnt get home. f***ing Piglets.

It doesnt help that he always rolls with herb, but has his medical license, always a hassle.. never got his sh!t taken away but we got a couple times in the cop car waiting..
the worst part is after they let you go, "YOu boys have a nice night"
Well it aint f**king nice anymore after that.bs -

Posts: 334Posted 20 years ago #Yea it was harsh the kids that had their camper raided lost out on an oz. of Boomers, a vile, and a few loose tenths of molly but their charges were dropped as well because the cops raided it with out any cause. -
