I was thinkin what are the rules of hip hop, but I need help to complete the rulebook, we can do it together, i'll start!
rule 1- no matter what you are rapping about you have to say your the best rapper ever and all other rappers suck. this is to stop people thinking you're not a good rapper
rule 2- anyone who hasn't listened to hip hop for as long as you doesn't know what theyre talking about
rule 3 - all famous rappers are sh!t unless they used to not be famous
rule 4- hip hop was invented by Fab Five Freddy and Blondie FACT

-It's cool to say you listen to soul, jazz or funk but mentionning anything to do with rock, country, metal, techno or house means you can't be a legit fan of hip hop. These genres of music are incompatible with being a hip hop fan. You hater.
-Rappers who don't wear shoes and hats must be wack. Real wack. Like, totally wack-haters.
-CD decks are better than vinyl decks. No one uses vinyl anymore it sounds like old people.
-Everyone in hip hop is the same. This is evident in all the famous tracks like that one by Nelly. If you are different to anyone else who likes hip hop either your not hip hop or they're. Find another hip hop fan as a comparision to verify who is the odd-one-out and therfore the non-hip hop head.
-If you ever wear a backpack or have ever worn a backpack or any type of bag this means you are a 'backpacker' so are not a hip hop fan. You just like that weird techno sh!t like El-P (see above). -

Posts: 576Posted 20 years ago #You could say that about Blondie and Fab 5, but Fab doesnt really rap, he's a graffiti artist, and there were loads of MCs and DJs before Blondie and Freddy.

ye sorry i lied. I INVENTED HIP HOP. back in 1954 it was me, Mr Motivator and VANILLA ICE. Mr Motivator wanted to turn the world into one latex wearin gym obsessed fit nation. Vanilla Ice was just there for the ice cream (it was hot back then). I said we should bust some freestyles. We had a hardcore battle of paper scissors stone for it but I won and so hip hop was born.
and that's how it went down. so now you know.

i saw an ice cream van the other day called Kool Keith's, thats another rule of hip-hop always have something to fall back on !
