I don't really know what this album is gonna be like but judging by Thes One's recent solo action i reckon his production will def be dope. I would like another sick track like The Breakdown where they got in Headnodic to do some ill bassline....

well, lookin forward to it, other thoughts?...

For me thes is one of the greatest producers ever,but iam as a big fan of "pete rock",nothing would be greater than a feature with him...
Also with peoples like J-Rawls,FiveDeez or Grapluva....

Iam looking forwared to it,for sure we dont will be dissap by the new Album:)

Whats up people? I can't wait for the Stepfather to drop this year, and that also got me wondering when will it drop? Thes told me last year in April 2004 that it was gonna come out in the fall of 2004, and obviously the P couldn't make that date so if anybody talked to him more recently on their UK tour or whatnot, hit the reply up. Thanks a lot and keep it real by listening to true hip-hop and not keyboard made fake hip-hop.

Is Stepfather just going to be the P, or are they planning on having some guests? I agree with deflori, a combination of PUTS and Pete Rock would be dope.

I don't care if the album takes a while, as long as it's another great People album.

When I last spoke to the p They said the album should be coming out around spring this year but if I'd guess it then i'd say spring/summer, with a 12" probably coming out before the LP drops...

they don't normally have a load of guests do they but i'd love to see (or hear, whatever haha) something like headnodic did on OST where they got in someone to do a instrument, getting in a violin or something could be ill

well, keep this thread around so we can spread rumours about stepfather

I got the AMV1 probably about 2 weeks ago. It's got some nice tracks and that underground feel. Thanx for the links to that website Yo.

Funny thing is on the AMV1 CD there is a label for a website called http://www.putsrecords.com have any of you checked that site out? It's hilarious.

yeah that link is on a load of PUTS 12"s, it's kinda funny if you see the site though - like an asian IT manager or something with all his family photos on there, props to the man for having the balls to mess with the P

Dingo - where did you get AMV1 from eventually cos it seems loads of people want copies of that

Anyway dudes, I'm putting up some more Stepfather info as we go - straight from Thes One in the other thread this time but I reckon it's good to have it all in the one place

Anyways, so I'll update you guys on the Stepfather progress as we go...

...The new PUTS album will be on Om Records. It is the 5th and final album of our existing contract for the label. All other stuff for me will be on Tres, as I am the active A&R for that label so it is easier for me to do stuff that way.

Also cool as I heard Stepfather was gonna be "PUTS's last album on Om Records" and I didn't know if that meant last album ever or just on Om. Seems like it's cos their Om Records contract is only for 5 records and also Dub K told me that no way would Stepfather be the last album - "why would we come this far then stop?" he said. Word! The future's looking good people!

I got American Men Volume 1 from Bugetbeats.com Thanx again Po for that website. AMV1 should definately be part of everyones PUTS collection.

should knock the woofers right out your speakers.

IMO Most of PUTS doesn't sound with Subs, but maybe my Subs just hit too hard :-P. Some good PUTS songs with bass are Acid Raindrops, The Next Step II, Breakdown, LA song(sensitive), Youth Explosion, and The Heat.

Breakdown is a def fav with that Headnodic bassline - you should all pick up his 12" off tres Records, it's dope

I think it'll be great. It'll be cool if they really take their time to perfect it, which is what they're doing, so it'll be great.

All the peeps here think jay-z and 50 also kanye....they all think their the sh!t! stupid!

Thes One is one cool emcee also a great vinyl pusher!!! lmao! man i just sitback and blaze erb while listening to any of your 5 albums!

I got American Men Vol.1 at soulseek and track 8..."dangerous" is CRAZ..E! they used the sample on the intro of "the next step" album! also dig cut 14 and 15 with Kid Lexus.

My personal favorite album has to be Question: infofA..also Or Stay Tuned. damn earth travelers is a dope track also yo, and the la song remix!

can go on and on.....damn the new Stepfather album! im so excited and i dont care if it takes long as long as its the same songs before!!!

KEEP IT UP GUYS! damn....5 albums, no videos but just the real sh!t thats legit but not counterfeit!

I can't thank you guys for enough for you are truly an inspiration for those real cats doing their thing!

couple more things Thes has commented about the new album, just copied into here for your easy consumption

Thes One said: We are working on Stepfather on the daily, but I don't want to set a deadline for it because, you know, it will be done when it's ready. Sorry it's taken so long, but it we had to keep digging to find the raw shi*...it just takes time.

The new album is definately dedicated to all of you (the fans), particularly one track which will probably be the last joint on the album.
