Hey guys, great community. I've been listening to PUTS since 2000 or so. I think Schooled in the Trade was the first ever PUTS related track I ever heard, stumbled across it back in the days of Limewire.

Lifestyle Marketing. If I ever need to get out of a funky mood, nothing helps put a smile on my face other than my little girl.

Hey I am Brittany, from Sacramento, go to college. etc...

I have always loved hiphop (even though I am only 20 I have an old soul:-p) and i always listened to stuff like Tupac, bone thugs, do or die, talib kweli, biggie, Naughty by nature, Ice cube, dre, tq, xraided, luni coleone, (hey im from Sac lol) some bay stuff ( old school e40 and tooshort) Snoop, Nate Dogg, etc... the list could go on forever. But a little over a year ago i heard a song on my friends cd player and it was silly puddy by Zion i and Grouch. I instantly fell in love with it and one i discovered them, then i found Living legends, panacea, PUTS, The grouch and Eligh, then i found Strage fruit project, Restoring poetry in music, basic vocab etc.. and I cannot STOP listening to underground! I cannot believe i had never heard this music before it is amazing, My ipod is full of underground and i love it soooo much. I have such a new appreciation for music and it is all thanks to the underground world. Now i have the best blazin' songs ever:)

PUTS is such an amazing unique duo and I love their music a lot. I never get enough of them and I appreciate their music very much. For once music has had more of an effect on my life in a positive way ever since I discovered underground and I love that their is substance and MEANING to the songs and you actually want to listen to the lyrics because there is always a message. My favorite song from them would probably still be EMpty Bottles of Water. I am obsessed with that song but there are so many more that i like.

Sorry for the super long intro i just thought yall could get a little background info about me

PS - Don't apologize for the long intro, ask the people here: I write essays on this thing like a mo'f***a (A few others do too; loudwon, you smoke dodo?, etc.).

Besides, what you had to say was really cool to hear. There's not enough people being deeply affected by music anymore, and underground hip hop is a d*mn good place to start for people looking for an inner movement or a lifeline to their positivity. I feel the same way you do about all this. I'm killing the Panacea right now while I type this.

I go to CSUS. Done next year hopefully! lol. Ya i just have such a passion for music, and even though i just started listening to underground (not as impressive as all you guys who have listened to it from the get) but i feel like i have such a deep appreciation for it. If someone would of introduced this to me years ago i would of loved it but underground isn't something that just comes to you, you sort of have to dig for it and find it and I never knew where to start because i knew NO underground artists besides local Sactown ones like luni, x raided, dre (well mroe bay area) but you get my drift... so finding this stuff was GOLD and i never stopped ever since! Went to my first Living Legends concert and it was one of the best ones I have ever been to. Missed Zion I at Sac state which really really sucked lol. Hope PUTS comes down here one day=\

Nice. I'm at UCD as a grad student and almost done too. Can't wait.

You still have a leg up on me though. I missed Living Legends AND Zion I... I was p*ssed about that. But I understand what you're kickin' down about digging for artists. I had to link it like a chain to find anything worthwhile: J5 > DJ Shadow > Blackalicious > Lyrics Born > Ugly Duckling > PUTS > etc...

PUTS did a DJ set in SF a month ago, but they weren't actually performing their own tracks. Still fresh though. You, me, and SacramentoChamp need to band together and tell Thes and Double to get over here and blow up Memorial Auditorium

Seriously!!!!!! I would do anything to see them. It sucks because alot of ZIon i conerts etc are in the bay and I am willing to go but they are always at 21 and up venues and I am not turning 21 till later this year :-\ My girl goes to UCD i was just in Davis last week for the second time ever. Sometimes my chapter goes up there for meetings but it is not like i do anything fun in Davis ever. My bf is obsessed with them and now he is starting to make beats again. He always loved producing but ever since he discovered PUTS he has a whole new inspiration. Also I cracked Reason so they could have the program to make stuff. We really do need to get them down here no joke!!
