And that's cool cause I never argue opinions, you know. Like who you like.

But when people start talking about what's real hip hop and _____ is what hip hop should be like, it just reminds me of those nerds at the record store that can't get their head out of their ass for one second and not have to bash so and so seemingly cause they're commercial (that was my assumption...I mean read that post again...it screams underground nerd to me)

I'm here cause I love PUTS too but I'm just saying...

It's like I enjoy good music but when I'm at a show or record store, there's always some rap hipsters...and that's something about the music scene right now that I can't stand.

Am I alone on this?

Yo Thes and Double, SLC Head ain't jokin' about this scene man. Us few Salt City heads are just keepin' the faith alive. We get a few good Hip-Hop acts that come through from time to time. De La was just at the U last spring. But most acts that come through are that neo-emo wear your heart on your sleve bullshizzle, that has evolved way past it's potential. You guys should hit up SLC for a show sometime. I'll pass out flyers for like two months if i have to, just let me know.

The problem with this statment is that there is still no accountability for statements made by suckers like kanye. Kanye say he is "Pete Rock Revised". THAT IS BLASPHEMY STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN. Heads don't dislike kanye and jay-z or who ever because we want to be elite suto intellectuals, we just don't like artists that don't respect the f***ing rules. These cats break code all the time and then they get credit for it from people like you. Rolling Stone calls the snare hand clap "Kanye's patented snare hand clap drum beat" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If you think that there are music store geeks out there on the scene then your right. That is me and it is a very defendable position. If you ask me there are to many cats out there that don't no sh!t about the rules and history of this artform. If you think I'm crazy then just ask Thes and Dub what they think about breaking the rules.

What up to everyone. First post. From the city of wind, Chicago

I been a fan of the P since 2000 (I think). I read a review of Question in the Form of an Answer in URB magazine and the review said something to the effect of this album being good hip hop. So being the interested college student I was at the time, I searched them out and finally found a copy of the album in Virgin Mega Store on North Michigan Ave. MAN, I BUMPED THIS CD ALL SEMESTER. When I first heard "Youth Explosion" I swear I would walk around campus reciting Thes' first verse like it was my own. "So who can make it tight (WE)/ First intial the (P)/ U-T-S Thes One and Double K just (BE)" But the track that I fell in love with was "Earth Travelers" That song right there helped me get through some tough finals.

Fast forward to graduating and not having a job immediately lined up. No sweat, OST dropped and I had gotten a part time job at UPS to last me until I found a real job. OST was my soundtrack to riding the bus and working the midnight shift. Do you realize how dope that album is? I swear to God I thought I was Thes One on that album...reciting "The LA Song" and "The Breakdown" dude came raw with it.

I was finally able to see them live when they came to the Metro in Chicago. Man that show was hype than a mofo, joe! I went berserk when they did "Hang Loose" and then started Kid'N'Play dancing...It felt like the Holy Spirit was up in that joint propelling the funk through the speakers that is Double K and Thes. Met Thes after the show and gave him his props, just dues for a live show.

Well that's a brief history of me and the P. I love them dudes. My favorite group of all times. I hope they come to Chicago again so they can rock once more.

What up yall, New to the site but sure as hell not new to PUTS been reppin this sh!t since 99 fresh outta LA. I was playing Or Stay Tuned on thew way to work and said I had to sign up incase Thes or Double K ever get on here cause this sh!t is so f**king tight. I'm a crate digger myself, haven't been makin beats as much lately just relaxin in the funk. These boys can dig. I was listening to "fly love song" and heard the record pop on the drum loop and I was like "this sh!t is no joke, I wish everyone understood how hard it is to dig like that, what it means to sift through records and discover your taste. thats what hip hop is. I know these cats are literally everything that is good about the music. I'm not on here to promote my sh!t but I just gotta give love cause. From digger to digger I see whats going on and I am nothing less than amazed.

Hey, I've been on here for a few weeks. I'm from Michigan, but currently am with the active army in Ft. Riley kansas, so i am hip to the Lawrence/Kansas city hip hop scene as well, serious talent on both ends. I'm the only one I know of around here into diggging, and i'm pretty new at it. I know my real basic artists (Bob James, James Brown, Deodato, Wes Montgomery, Issac Hayes) but am looking forward to diving in and finding better and more rare records. I've got a Boss Dr. Sample 303 (Madlib's sampler) and a small stack of records and I'm looking forward to what the future will bring. If anyone is hip to the Ann Arbor/Detriot or Lawrence Kansas City scene give me a PM so I can meet you.

What's happening 'P' peeps!
This is Nick D from south west Uk. Been a fan of P.U.T.S ever since I heard SF Knights on a 411 sk8 vid right after it came out. Been supporting and rocking their beats from day 1.
Just wanted to say hi to you all!
I'm off to glastonbury festival, lucky me
