Posted 17 years ago #hey everyone, like expansive, i too joined today. i've lurked here a few times over the years but had been too busy with whatever else to register.
when i got the word that they'd be back in my town soon, i knew i needed to drop in and see what was up.
i have all the LPs and just got the new singles today. i am a huge fan of the p famiy: seeing them here two years ago introduced me to the madness that is giant panda, who just played here this summer. and i dig J5, crown city, and breakestra. family rap is the jam!
pardon the shameless plug, but i gave a shout out for step bacc on a local music blog that i've helped birth: http://www.seattlesubsonic.com. drop in and check us out. -
Posted 17 years ago #wassup to all the people that dig the P.. my friends introduced me to the P and ever since that night i heard OST (first P album that i heard) i was blown away. Up to this date i've heard all their albums and am always trying to dig for those rarity tracks. Aside from the P i listen to basically any other group. mc, dj, producer that creates good hip hop...among those are the Tribe, Wu-Tang, Freestyle Fellowship, NaS, Black Star, Slum Village, De La just to name a few. Really looking forward to shoot the breeze about the P and music, movies, graff, and any other form of banter...peace

Posted 17 years ago #Peace y'all. I mainly came to send a message to Thes but it would be rude not to introduce myself. I'm Fizz, Fizzy, Fizzstar, etc. Purveyor and listener of dope music. Just recently got into PUTS (forgive me). But the boys are dope. I'm also part of the Spitkicker collective (De La, Talib, J-Live, etc.). Come check out http://www.myspace.com/spitkicker (shameless plug) and Spitkicker.com coming soon (even more shameless).

Posted 17 years ago #Wattup p fans. i registered a while ago but never found this topic its dope that whoever comes on here can let everyone know theyr here. sh!t like this gives me confidence tru hip hop still does exist to more than a couple people. my fav p tracks off the top of the head are: you, pass the 40, zignaflyinblow, crazy live, asshole, death of a salesman, take the fruit, hang loose ('like a mother that just gave birth' classic), acid raindrops and one of my favorite instrumental tracks ever slow bullet. the first time i heard of the p was when a buddy showed me pulp fiction, and from then i was hooked. and word to jazmak that sh!t on the stepfather dvd was funny sh!t peace thes n double

Posted 17 years ago #Whatup. I'd just like to say thanks to the PUTS for killing my collection. I now have to force myself listen to other stuff. I jump in my truck today, plug in the pod and think to myself,"F**k it. It's been three days since I listened to 'em." I dial up the P, and.. I don't even know. It's like a big fat Rib Eye after eatin' Corn Dogs for three days. It's been this way for 2 years now. Stupid. All I want is more, more, more. So thanks PUTS, thanks for being, by far and away, the best s**t I ever heard.

Posted 17 years ago #greetings to all... been a PUTS fan since "Question..."!! 1st of all, I love their music. as someone who's high school years were from 92-96, I got to experience some amazin artists/albums/singles/etc. the kind that some of you consider "REAL HIP HOP". and although a lot of the dope sh!t came from NY, I really fell in love with west coast sh!t (i.e. hiero, freestyle fellowship, pharcyde). i remember UNITY, Good Life, Kingston 12, etc. and the best thing about PUTS is that I feel that they experienced all that sh!t with me, almost like we went to those shows together. and now, they're making music almost in tribute to those good times.
thanks PUTS.. see u @ VIRGIN ONTARIO 10/2 then later @ the Glass House
btw... "REAL HIP HOP" should be any music that makes u feel good!!!

Posted 17 years ago #Yo i finally decided to join this forum but i've been a P fan for years. The Show in Pomona at the Glass House on Thursday night was DOPE yo(Big Ups to Shawn Jackson and Common Market too they rocked it)and I got my copy of FUN DMC signed and copped a dope shirt. Yo the in store gig at Fingerprints in the LBC was a treat as well(im lovin the free FUN DMC tall can coozie and poster). Me and 5 other fans of the P came all the way from San Luis Obispo County and kept it live in the crowd for both shows. People Under The Stairs deliver that funky sh!t that i just cant get enough of.

Posted 17 years ago #What's up people? I've been following the P since O.S.T, and each album since has been a major event for me. I'm looking forward to their show in a couple of weeks in NYC. I've got all of their albums on my internet radio station, Forever True School (http://www.forever-true-school.com). I just copped Fun-DMC a week ago and have been bumping "The Grind", "Gamin' On Ya", "A Baby", and "D" the most, but it's another tight album from start to finish. Thanks to the PUTS crew for for the life soundtrack. Peace!

Posted 17 years ago #I used to be a member long ago but cant remember my username or pw, heh heh, oh well. My name IS Gabe and I have been listening to the PUTS since my High School days, graduated '02. When i first heard The Next Step i was instantly hooked. Like straight playin that funk daily! Growing up my parents played a variety of soul, motown, jazz and hispanic cultural music i guess you might call it. My older brother and sister listened to some radio but mostly chicago mixtapes and local rappers. These things blended and i was destined for the PUTS.

Posted 17 years ago #Hi everyone!
Just joined today but I've been listening to PUTS since The Next Step. I'm a bit shy and don't have that much time to post here often but I hope to meet some of you at the 10th anniversary show this Friday at the El Rey. Until then, nice to meet you all.

Posted 17 years ago #Hey P heads,
I'm from the Chi suburbs. Huge PUTS fan and I'm a little pissed I'm only now finding this forum. My music genre of choice is Drum and Bass (Some electronic sh!t, no its not like techno) but I love the quality hip-hop of PUTS. Ever since i first heard the P i have loved playing it for people who claim to be big into underground hip hop and good music in general. My favorite album has got to be OST with all the rest in a close second
