Yo people,
milhousescoop here, just saying hello. I will act as a moderator for this forum. Thes is right, it will be the first of its kind on the web. It's quite exciting really, and there's huge potential for some great discussions here.
A little about myself: I do hold a degree in electrical engineering. In addition to that, I've worked for a couple major professional audio companies. I've been heavily into designing my own audio electronics the past 2-3 years, and am now at the point of making things for other people as well. I think I am now at the point where I have accumulated enough useful (and useless) knowledge to be able to share that with other people. But, I don't claim to be a master and have much to learn from all of you as well I am sure. In addition to all that, I've been DJing and making beats for over 10 years now, so I can apply all this nerdy stuff to hip hop too.
So, my job will be to steer the discussions in this forum in a healthy direction. The goal of Tech Talk will mostly be to educate, but also to spawn new ideas either directly or indirectly.
Please particiipate! Register and post. Don't be shy. Will be talking to you soon!

Posted 21 years ago #Ay yo Mr. Scoop/Soultec... it's G.A.M./Hubert, saying what's up.
Can you build me an SP-1200 with 3 years of sampling time? Thanks -
Posted 21 years ago #I could, but you probably wouldn't be able to afford it. There's a lot of work involved in building a full sampler/sequencer. It would take me months working full time to do something like that.
I am already working on the next best thing though. I'll keep you posted. -
Posted 21 years ago #this all seems like a good idea - milhousescoop welcome! and when I work out how to do it exactly i'll make it so you're a proper moderator for this area, being able to edit stuff etc (unless you don't want to)
- I'll PM you when I done it yeah
