Posts: 77Posted 19 years ago #Right this has bee bugging the sh*t out of me! There's a two bar loop in suite for beaver part 2 from a song that i'm sure I don't need to mention here. I've listened through that song and I can't find any point where the first bar of the two bar loop appears without singing on it on the original. Am I just missing it? I'm sure the vocal hasn't just been filtered out, so how did doubleK do it!!!??? Any ideas? -

Posts: 12Posted 19 years ago #i'm not sure (haven't heard the original) but what PUTs usually do when they make a break is use a lo-pass filter to make Bass. Then they just layer stuff on top.OR, Since the mpc samples in Mono, maybe they got the cut from the side that didn't have the vocal on it....that's my take..hope that eases your mind..peace -

any other ideas? -

Posts: 77Posted 18 years ago #aiight it's off a song called 'i can dig it baby' by little beaver from the Party Down LP (hence the puts songs being suite for beaver). just didn't wanna go shouting my mouth off about who they sampled and be the one to get them sued as the dude beaver is still working. i think he was a session musician on joss stone's last album would you believe it! -

Posts: 12Posted 18 years ago #ok...i see now..it looks like KK filtered out the highs to get the bass..then he just used that small like, 1 sec sample of the moog..(and just threw a little reverb under it to "extend it"..then they he just added the bongos/drums and sh!t..that's it!..
