and I even have Thes' Lifestyle Marketing and Noonen
But I really enjoy the type of vibe that each track has.
The melody and mellowness. But I would like to produce a PUTS type beat
on my FL Studio 7 - the type of beat from Question In the Form of Answer or it really doesn't matter.
But any suggestions on songs I should sample, or drum kits,
Or Pads?

they give you so many clues it ain't even funny...just dig them crates like your life depended on it thats all i can say...or travel back in time and employ a load of the greatest session players of the 70s working in the LA area and book some time in the best studio, that might work.... -

It really shouldn't matter what piece of equipment you use to do beats on, but if you are seeking to make that dope hip-hop, as Easydee said... dig up as much vinyl as you can. There are no shortcuts or special kits to download, you just gotta dig the old fashioned way!

damn straight...i'm not against new technology, just a balance, like any recording you do, you gotta have a good sound to work with before you do anything, so dig brother dig....consider using real instruments instead of plugins, a real bass player, a guitarist make funk, jazz or whatever just be creative..you can't buy it in a box i'm afraid -

Posts: 16Posted 18 years ago #yo. that is a real interesting question. equipment, digital or analog, digging? i use digital because i cant afford analog samplers, compressors etc. and its a lot cheaper to use software programs. but digging is the way forward to find stuff. you can find so much original stuff that you can't get in the library that comes with software.
i play bass and guitar as well, and am picking up the drums too soon. i reckon its just doing what you feel like, and what your heart tells you sounds real. inspiration from others is all good, but you just gotta go for it...
(also - on a note, as thes says, digital really does thin the sound out. im not a fan. but you gotta work with what you got...) -

Plus huge amounts of music is made digitally....I'de say the majority of music today is. Although it often seems rare.....good music is made digitally in large amounts! You can still be original creating music digitally....plus it is reletivly new to the music industry (in the last 40 years (?!)) and provides a huge expanse of new mediums to be explored musically....especially as digital technoligy is developing so rapidly.

dont wanna totally copy there sh!t thats some Wannabe sh!t.
They dont really like to spit over a bunch of noise so most of the time when they rap, the sample they used is turned down and then theyre voice and drums are turned up. But then when theyre not rappin they give a showcase of theyre scratchin and producin skills. Fresh!
good examples from QITFOAA are Yehaw Partystyles, E Business, Earth Travelers, Code Check
in Blowin' Wax they gradually put samples in and make them louder as the song leads to the chorus and then when the chorus hits they pump that sh!t. Fresh Beat, very smart.

the drums will take forever and digital cuts off sound frequencies that people cant hear which is straight cuz u can compress the sh!t out of it but those frequencies do have an effect on the frequencies you can hear so it f***s with the sound. some songs more then others.
