Posts: 60Posted 18 years ago #Yo man, I saw one about a month ago on Seattle Craigslist, and a few on ebay. Theyre expensive, I'm only 15 years old, and I make beats, I originally wanted the MPC2000xl or the SP1200, but theyre just way to expensive for me. Hope you find one!

yeah you should try looking from your local stores that sell used music gear (dont know hwta those are called in english), alot of dudes that ive heard talking about sp1200 have found their sp1200 from either the ebay or from the used muic gear shops...
also if you´d like to have a sp1200 but you would just use it for drums and such (not long melody samples which you cant actually even sample in cause of the limited memory...) you should consider getting a sp 12 or sp 12 Turbo (well that what ive heard from other messageboards)...
mpc 2000xl doesnt have the same crunchy sound hat sp 1200 / sp 12 / sp 12 turbo has cause its not 12-bit, mpc 2000xl is 16 bit... mpc 2000xl can be easily found cheap (starting from 400 dollars up to like 800 dollars), sp 1200 usually cost like 800- over thousand dollars cause of the classic status that those have...
edit: by the way, if you are looking for the sp for the crunchy sound you should propably also take a look at the Akai s950... just a thought though
