I'm doing an essay on Dj Premier/Gangstarr.... I'm comparing their albums between '91 to '94 which were step in the arena, daily operation and hard to earn... If anyone can give any opinions on these albums, which one you like best and why or how their styles have evolved that would be dope.

Posts: 20Posted 18 years ago #Personally i enjoy "Step in the Arena" the most. The album just has that dope laid back old school flavor to both the beats and the rhymes. but that's just my opinion.

Posts: 508Posted 18 years ago #man thats hard, the track step in the arena is one of my fav hip hop tracks full stop, but if you're talking album wise i'd go for daily operation...reason, i just marvel at premos ability to do so much with so little, and gives guru the perfect canvas to work on, also it was my intro to gangstarr, also primos beats with jeru & krs one are the same real short samples and loops layered it's like he creates sound sculptures... -

Arena is the bomb too. Never really liked Daily Operation. But Hard to Earn is one of my favourite albums of all time. -
