Hey
What do people here think of Yungun? I first heard/saw him at the Jazz Cafe last October supporting the P and I thought he was the bomb. I grabbed his album 'The Essance' and it is a sweet little number. There are some classy joints on it such as 'City Breaks', 'Big Idea' and 'Dancing Feet'. Also 'Gringo Lingo' has some Spanish crossover, a la Giant Panda!
What do people reckon then?

Was that the show with Blade? I was meant to get up to that but couldn't make it. I saw PUTS the same week anyway, so I wasn't too disappointed. -

Posted 21 years ago #You can grab his cd off his label at http://www.janomi.com I think I got mine for a tenner delivered from them.
Yeh, that Blade show was an absolute joke! The best part was when one of their crew went "I'm here representing the scottish hip-hop scene" and most of the crowd pissed themselves!
Def try and get hold of some of Yungun's stuff though -

It's a shame, because I'm a massive Blade fan since years ago. I heard a couple of tracks from his in-the-works album with Baby J and they're absolutely amazing. It's just such a shame the BA comes across as such as arsehole live and turns so many people of what a skilled emcee Blade is. -

Not the best, but still tight. -
Posted 21 years ago #Nice one, cheaper than direct from the label eh? Definitely get round to buying it if you can....
Blimey... I sound like his agent!
