basically i believe "the 4 elements" as an encompassing phrase is an outsider term usedin an attempt to try to understand this multifaceted cultural that hip hop is. To try to narrow this down to "4" elements is some pepsi taco bell mcdonalds sh!t to me. The fact that they have sold this back to actual people in this culture is frustrating to me. "4 elements" is responsible for you seeing mcdonalds comemercials with dudes breakdancing and doing grafitti and sh!t.
I love all the "elements" of this culture - there are more than anyone can count: the streets, slang, graffiti, pop locking, beatboxing, making beats, djing, rapping, freestyling, uprocking etc.
to many.
so basically i'm saying f*** the phrase "4 elements"
that's reducing hip hop to a t-shirt slogan to me and in doing so excludes PUTS from this sh!t.

at the same time theres alot of dumba**es and they have no fu**en clue what all these things are.so u gotta stress it sometimes.
but yea i remember u saying something about 4 elements and how its like knowing that the sky is blue.LOL.true. -
