Posted 21 years ago #I'm looking into buying a turntable to play some of my vinyl in my collection. I just want one purely for playing. Do you guys recommend anything in a reasonable price range? Thanks.

Thes, were you reffering to a Technics 1200? I was searching for it and found that. Man, I wish my pops didn't get rid of his Marantz turntale... That thing was so nice *sigh*.
I know this might be a bad question but... All turntable play 7" vinyl and those 45's. I'm pretty sure they do but I'm just making sure. haha, yeah I'm a serious noob when it comes to turntables. My first vinyl was the Giant Panda 88' Remix 12" I got at a show. Thanks again for the help. -

No, all turntables don't have to play at a 45 speed. It's common for most players though. You'll find that most player don't play 78s, but even newer tables can hook that up too.
You'll need a 45 adapter with a Tech 1200 though. Most come with a metal one... "45 adapter, riding in backpocket!" -

Posted 21 years ago #i figure if its just for playing some records and nothing more, its one of the cheapest decks, but like Bond is saying, depends on what your trying to do, if you want to scratch and do other things, a used 1200 would be a good choice
