Hi
I was listening to the lyrics of The Fun and since my English is not very good, i was wondering what the lyrics mean. I mean the general meaning.
I think they say the bottom line is the dollar sign but PUTS never did it first for the money.
What do they mean?
Thanks mates!

You know, they do this music cause they love it, but they gotta make a living somehow. I don't think they're glorifying it or bragging about having a sh!t ton of money like a pop rapper would do.
They reference buying shots for strangers and Double KK is "The general of generosity" etc. in the song too. And if you listen to Step Bacc Thes' got a line something like "We made six figures last year and we drank a lot of beer, so how is that underground? It really doesn't matter..."
They're enjoying the fruits of their hard work and success is what I get. -

After all, it is the way they make their living and they're both over 30 now so they have to start thinking like "adults" and taking that side of it seriously.
Let's not forget, Thes has a wife and now a child to think about too. I know when I got married it changed my attitude toward life. I guess we're talking about the difference between a job and a career. For Thes and Mike, being musicians used to be a job - a pretty fun one at that - but they realise now it's more than that, it's a career.
The bottom line, for everyone in their career, is the dollar sign.
That's how I read it...
