Damn Sac. You just keep on delivering on this P-front. Luckily we have you. Thanks for the epic report and thank you for letting us know that the P has not gone all memphis/ASAP with their sound

Speaking objectively, and trying not to give away too much:as far as new ground goes, it fell pretty comfortably into the PUTS catalog, BUT... I feel like it's a just a touch harder-edged than what I'm used to from PUTS (since they are pretty much the premiere "chill" group, lyrically)... if Public Enemy and PUTS had a kid together, it might sound like what I heard... but I WAS really digging the track... In my opinion, it's also got good crowd-interaction potential, and it'll get people pumpin' their fist.
From what I saw of the video clips recorded earlier in the day, the video will raise the bar for the track, definitely. PUTS has never done a video like this one, not by a long-shot.
That's about as far as I can take it without spoiling things (if I haven't already).
Note: I didn't get a chance to hear the whole track, front-to-back; each scene we shot was pretty much snippets of the track...
I'm hyped!

One other thing: Double K's sis might be sending me photos that she took the day of the shoot. If none of them expose the theme of the video or anything, I'll post them up. (If they do, I'll still post them up, but later, after the video's been released.)

Sac, that beat on Thes's haircut instagram post, is it THE BEAT???
I ask because it had a harder Bomb squad feel?? Dope either way -

That beat on that instragram vid is fresh!! It doesn't sound like the same one as the video, though (the one for the video sounded even harder, actually).a_salvador said:

I also just noticed something yesterday: "12SP" also sounds like a play on an "SP-12" (Dub K's weapon of choice, unlike Thes' MPC)... did everyone else notice this, and I'm just obtuse?

Either way I like the sound. Was not expecting it, but that is the P. Always fresh.
That's a good spot Sactown. You thinking double K has had a bigger hand in the production?!?!?!?

Also, there's a nice tune on an Instagram post by Thes' mate 'tattoofilmer' which I've heard before, and I've got on a mix somewhere, but I just can't recall it...it's been bugging me all day.
It's on the video he posted 3 days ago (the one with the chap surfing).
Anybody any idea?

Yeah SP-12 came to my mind also and maybe the beat in the barbershop video sound a bit like it was done on SP-1200. But it could be the low quality also embedded in the video. You know SP adds this slight tinge to the sound...!

Sac was in the building???
Trying to rake my mind but can't remember many faces from that night.
Spent most of the night chatting it up with 4 other P fans, one of which came from Boston and had the talent for shaking his head like a dog. The other P fans were a nice couple from around the area, and the guy looked like Bono from U2. And last but not least was this cute girl wearing a skin tight black suit making her look like Cat Woman; she had the talent for hula hooping, but didn't get the chance to show it off. But I'm sure Sac noticed her.
I asked them all if they were members of this forum, but they didn't know anything about it. I was also surprised at how little they actually knew about the P and other artists the P have worked with.
I know we have some forum members from around the area, and I thought I would meet some of them, but it really did seem that no one knew much of the P.
All the people Sac mentioned were in the building. Chris Clarke was also there.
I spoke with Predominance from R2 and asked him why they hadn't been on the forums lately. He said there's a lot going recently and explained. Asked him if he was still in high school, It turns out he's 23 now. If I understood him right, Double K's little brother is part of a group called Villain Park and is touring with the P. I may not be right on that though. However, Villain Park was in the building. They were part of the group that Sac described as freestyling to beats coming off a car.
Here's one of their songs: -

nice nice... can't wait to see/hear the fruits of all the labour. Is that Chris Clarke who's the son of bass legend Stanley Clarke?

This Chris Clarke:
He's also featured on the Aesthetics Crew Family Circus Mixtape: http://pl70.net/downloads/the-aesthetics-crew-the-family-circus-mixtape/#more-2223 -

You were there?!? Da*n, we shoulda done a forum head-count or something; I was looking for people from the boards... I was in wrap-around sunglasses and a black beanie (COMPLETELY not my normal wear, was just trying it out for the video). Later on, I think I had a huge "P" on my shirt.freshkest said:

I was sitting near two girls when that skin-tight girl walked by (she was asian, right?), and they were saying "I'm NEVER going to have a body like that" and things. Funny thing was that they looked good too. I would've spoken up, but how do I turn on the charm when I look a little like Bono myself... "Hey, wanna come back to my place in... Sacramento?? My wife will probably be in the other room."... Probably wouldn't work.
I also noticed that not as many people knew about the P. I think a lot of the people there were actors who'd jumped at the words "casting call".
I talked with Predominance for a while too. I actually still had a video on my phone of R2 doing "1 Step Ahead" live in Slim's in S.F., and we watched a little of it. He's a real stand-up homie.
Double K was talking with his brother for a while about his group, but I never caught the name of it.
I hope the video comes out ahead of the album release... crazy anxious to see if I look like a complete idiot or not, haha.
