   I play the motherf*cking trombone! Not very good though. Been taking drum lessons recently too, off a mate who is a drum genius. It usually consists of us getting cheeba'd up and playing with his set, usually me watching him bust loose and saying something along the lines of "woah dude..."

   i played the bari sax for 8+ years when i was young, but it's been a while, so i don't really count it.

   banjo and mandolin, that's some serious sh*t right there. always wanted to learn to play a pedal steel.
   
   5 string banjo, 5 string bass... that's a lot of strings...
   
   which reminds me, anyone in here ever heard/seen Charlie Hunter, with his 8 string Novax? Plays the bass strings with his thumb and guitar strings with his fingers, and you'd swear to god that it's two guys playing? so fresh.

   I saw Charlie Hunter Live last summer for free at an outdoor concert. He's pretty fun to see jam. and the pedal steel- Thats really cool. I love the sound. I'd really like a weissenborn acoustic lap slide guitar. if wishes were fishes...

   the pedal steel has 10 strings just by itself! a seriously hard instrument as well- the pedals each change the pitch of 2 strings each, and the thing doesn't seem to follow any kind of sensible pattern.
   
   i never thought i'd find an instrument that would make the banjo seem easy.
   
   i've been trying to convince some local rappers to use some of my banjo samples, but they don't seem to be too into the banjo! GO FIGURE?!?
   
   ever heard Robert Randolph? alot of his music is kinda 'meh', i find, but he is a hell of a pedal steel player.
   
   and good call on the Charlie Hunter... i saw him play once and seriously figured there was a bassist hiding somewhere backstage. f***ing *amazing*

   On a semi side note I play alto sax, clarinet and piano.
   
   I didn't realize so many people liked the sax so much. It's cool, but I really wanna learn how to play drums and bass at some point.

   Hey guys! I've been playing the drums for about 4 years now, but i've been playing the guitar for about 16 years. I also play bass, and have messed around with violin, bongos, and the kora for a couple years too. My good friend's dad is an instrument collector, and has a shop full of crazy instruments he has collected from travels around the world. I go into his shop whenever I can.

    Toumani Diabate is amazing. I love in that video how he starts off playing it really simply but then just suddenly kicks off into some next level complexity

    Good to see some musical diversity up on here. How many people are actually using tables? I always wanted to learn, just never had/made the opportunity. Kinda beat myself up for it, 'cause I'm already good with sampling beats and looping them and using music editing software.

    Haha, yeah, yeah... being someone who's played a regular guitar + guitar hero, I'm a little worried that the DJ Hero thing might not be an accurate representation either. Might be a good place to start...

    i play alto tenor & baritone saxophones, electric & acoustic guitar, upright bass and electric bass, and a little bit of piano (mostly for composition purposes)
