Sample it! Cut it up! Cut and paste from wherever you can..just honestly express yourself! And most importantly..GIVE DUE RESPECT. If I am feelin the funky drummer beat, and I sample it, I'd call Clyde up personally and thank him if I could. I definitely put his name on the album. If I was an artist, and someone sampled me, I'd be honored.
It's all the record companies after the $$$. Clyde hasnt seen a cent from the sample clearances...wtf. That doesnt make sense.
If the artist isnt cool with it, that's fine, but it shouldnt be up to the record labels. At least that's what I think. -

Side note: as much as I like Clyde Stubblefield, Jabo Starks is the sh*t.
Haven't been able to post much lately, I been laid up with the flu. Sucks. At least I'm getting a chance to watch some movies and get babied by my fiancée

Oh yeah, it was a great class. We literally never used our book. All we did was interpret art, watch powerpoint presentations, listen to music, and watch movies.
