I should probably know this, but how did Thes & KK come up with their names?

I highly recommend reading the whole lecture as it is a brilliant lecture on Hip Hop philosophy and history, focusing on gear history, but near the end he takes questions and that is one of them. It boils down to him wanting to use big words, got called a "little thesaurus", dropped the end, and added the "one" because some tagger in L.A. also went by Thes and was getting his ass beat, so Thes would say "No, I'm Thes ONE... kick that other dudes ass"
As for Double K's name, I've often wondered that myself. His earlier works are under the name "DJ KAOS", but was Double K by the time The Next Step II came out. I have a suspicion it may stem from the Funky Four Plus One More's members names K.K. Rockwell and Keith Keith. Double K has quoted both of their raps in his. Of course, this is all wild speculation.
